Posted September 10, 2007. This was a great day, and definately the highlight of my first week in the US! I know a guy from Business School in Bergen who works in another not-so-famous Norwegian oil company in Houston. He and some colleagues went fishing on Saturday, and I managed to invite myself along. We set the boat out by the bridge on road number 82, and drove out the canal with the boat, and did the fishing just a km from the coast, east of the canal. Map: http:/ www.google.com/maps?

Car shopping – what a tough choice! Posted September 11, 2007. One of the absolutely most terrible things about having to move to the US is buying cars. The cars and corresponding prices here just don’t compare well to Norway… Hehe :o). I couldn’t wait, of course, so I’ve already visited 5-6 car dealerships in the area (unfortunately I didn’t have time to go to the Harley dealership down the road. Yet), and it looking goooood! Posted September 10, 2007. I’ve had a good week over here. I arrived to really heavy rain on Monday, a gift from above to make the transition easier. Since then we’ve had rain almost every day, for about 1 hour in the afternoon. But anyway, since there hopefully are some non-Norwegians reading this I will not talk too much of the weather :o). Maua is a place in the mountains, with real trees, grass and fireplaces! Charming. We stayed in a old family hotel run by a 90 year-old German lady. Reshreshingly familiar!
