After University, marriage, and the birth of my first daughter as soon as my husband and I knew we would soon be moving into our first house I bought my first Shorthair puppy. He wasn't much of a show dog, but he sure was a character! Tough, athletic and a handful even for a strong man, yet my toddler daughter learned to walk holding onto his collar and he never knocked her down. He was a great guy. She was Sandy's daughter and my first real show dog - and how she loved the shows!

Whatever Gods there be, they broke the mould after Stormy came along! He was a Once in a Lifetime Dog. A supreme show dog, a wonderful example of his breed, a producer of champions, a tireless hunting buddy, a brave guardian of home and family and simply the best dog I could ever hope to have. There will never be another like that Stormy dog. With the exception of the Bermuda shows and a couple of other times he was always breeder/owner handled, or shown by one of my daughters, both here and in the States.

A breeding program is only as good as its bitches. Knowing that, and knowing the type I wanted I was fortunate to find The Bird - an in-bred Whispering Pines beauty. She was the foundation for my breeding program. That I was later able to acquire her litter sister Sky was a serendipitous bonus! She finished in Canada undefeated while still a junior puppy and paid for herself with puppy sweeps prize money! Her finishing US major saw her take the breed over 15 specials! She was a wonderful dog.

As a puppy her head was awful - it got much better as she matured - but she really was the girl with the beautiful body! In the early 80s Cedarpark quietly slipped from the dog scene after 20 some years devoted to Shorthairs. Career moves and life style changes meant that participation would no longer be possible (Apartment living and litters just don't go together!
