Stan and Kay live on Gooseberry Point overlooking Lummi Bay just north of the city of Bellingham. To the south/left of their view over Lummi Bay is Lummi Island, one of the many San Juan Islands. Arriving in Bellingham just before midday, our first afternoon involved lunch at the Boundary Bay Brewery (and a sample of their beer! Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

My adventures around the globe. Friday, 18 September 2009. Land of FIre and Ice. It might give a hint to the predominant weather conditions during my visit. Iceland has a population of approx 320,000 of which more than a third live in Reykjavik City and nearly two-thirds live in the Greater Reykjavik area. It was here in Reykjavik where I began my adventure. Geyser Geothermal Field was our lunchstop. Featuring the now inactive "Great Geyser". And its faithfully spouting buddy. At least the water was warm!
