Paducah Site Modernizes Equipment to Treat Off-Site Groundwater Contamination. EM recently completed upgrades to modernize a key facility that reduces off-site groundwater contamination at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant site. Equipment at the C-612 Northwest Pump-and-Treat Facility that had reached the end of its service life or no longer had available replacement parts was replaced with newer equipment to allow the facility’s continued operations. The United States Department of Energy (DOE) will conduct public tours of the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. The tours will provide a close-up view of the formerly operating uranium enrichment facilities and a unique opportunity to learn about the plant history and its current activities. The tours are free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis, and will accommodate up to 40 people. Be a U.S. citizen. Provide a valid government issued photo I.D. Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
