http://poetsdeadend.blogspot.com/2007/07/haiku-comfort.html

Poems by me. the sometimes poet. Monday, July 23, 2007. I love the nature images in all these haiku - and the wonderful feeling they evoke. I also love the whole idea of transformation. Well-done and very beautiful! July 24, 2007 at 9:26 AM. I love the feeling of that last one. wind gust lullaby . yes. July 24, 2007 at 9:31 AM. I love your third haiku, beautiful. Poems by me. the sometimes poet. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Like bronze organza scraps. Upon a seamstresses floor;. Swept into a disused corner;. They have no purpose now. Trapped along the fence line. Scuttled along by the wind,. The drift of melting snow,. In another life,. Strong fresh vibrant;. A fibre now dulled;. Their chlorophyll hues, drained. Threadbare and fragile,. They lay in clusters;. Mere ghosts of their former selves. The emerald life blood has retreated. Evaporated.been absorbed;. The inqu...

Poems by me. the sometimes poet. Sunday, January 21, 2007. An eternal, rejuvenating flower. Tight as a bud. A dance with natures breath,. Gliding, darting, diving;. Carried by the wind,. burnt offerings: Bent Nails

http://poetsdeadend.blogspot.com/2007/01/bent-nails.html

Poems by me. the sometimes poet. Sunday, January 7, 2007. We destroyed the back shed today. Decayed wood remains left after the fray. With jagged old nails poking out. 8220;Bang the nails bent”, my husband did shout. 8220;Bang the nails bent”, I instructed my Son. 8220;With the nails jutting out they could hurt someone”. And when those nails refused to lie down. We wrenched the nails out and hurled ‘em to the ground. Abiding old nails bent over the wood. Ceased to appear as true nails should.

burnt offerings: Admiring from Afar

http://poetsdeadend.blogspot.com/2007/01/admiring-from-afar.html

Poems by me. the sometimes poet. Sunday, January 7, 2007. Wallowing in the murkiness. Head above water- heart sinks under. Foul pond in the dale. Exposed summit across the tundra. Jetty direct above me. The cold shadows I do swim. There is light all around you. But for me, its cold and dim. Atop the shining summit. Crystal waters just beyond. I, left struggling in the murkiness. Of the dank and dreadful pond. You reveal secrets of the summit. Its sweet ascent and blissful view. In The Bud of a Rose.

The Brave: March 2008

http://stillbrave.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, 20 March 2008. It’s been a while, hasn't it? I have been so completely busy and the internet connection is not real great here, so I have been avoiding the computer a bit. I am probably the most impatient person on the planet, so an internet service that drops out and is inexplicably slow frustrates me to the point of insanity. Links to this post. Monday, 10 March 2008. Anyone need a couple of suitcases? They are so bulky. Seriously, if you live in Adelaide and require a couple of large sui...

The Brave: The pub

http://stillbrave.blogspot.com/2008/05/pub.html

Tuesday, 6 May 2008. From the mere smell wafting from the local, I could imagine the decor inside: dart board on one wall, an orchestra of alto voices rumbling incoherently like a turbulent sea. The only recognisable word being an intermittently barked ". The carpet on the ground is dark, with an unsightly geometric pattern of the likes never seen in any domestic arena. It's pattern. Smeared with the remnants of dried clay, and navy Yakka. Thinking back to the pub in my memory, I half expect a similar cr...

The Brave: Irony

http://stillbrave.blogspot.com/2008/04/irony.html

Sunday, 27 April 2008. However, the plan went to pot when the installers found they had a mismatched flue, and so, with regret, the guys informed me there were no spares of the correct flue in the warehouse and they would have to order another in. which will take another week or so. Great! With Ashley away in Scotland, my brother came to my rescue with a new fuse he just happened to have lying around in his shed, and a flashlight, which I was also without. How was your night? Thursday, 31 January 2008. Flight of the Bumble Bee. Tuesday was the fated first day of school.it didn't go well. Late last year we went to. The school of choice. So banking entirely on all these positives and totally downplaying the separation thing, we drilled it into him that his first day was going to be ". Just like the last time",. Just a little longer. Again It seemed the initial taste had given him enough confidence to feel that he could suck it up for the cause.in our dreams! I tried to take in ...

The Brave: February 2007

http://braverstill.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

Fortune Favours The Brave" is my motto in life. The sentiment stands more as a note to self - an encouraging reminder, if you will, rather than echoing any real claims to fame. I enjoy writing, that is purely what this site is about. Wednesday, 28 February 2007. I walked all day. Let me know when it is spring. We walked along the dike. And abandoned looking state, surrounded by old logs, black and heavy, bobbing in the wake of a passing river barge, these old river houses had a beauty about them. I d...

Monday, 10 March 2008. We are practically all unpacked, which sounds kind of miraculous, but we have spent the past two weeks couriering suitcases and boxes of brickabrack over by car and putting it away on the spot.
