State of the Nation: The American conundrum
http://fear-nation.blogspot.com/2006/09/american-conundrum.html
State of the Nation. A rant about current events and the progress/decline of the American ideal. Tuesday, September 19, 2006. The American state of mind is truly fascinating. On one hand there is an extreme superiority complex. On the other, there is such a deep naivete that no other country on the planet can probably boast similar. The two combined have led us to the current sad state of affairs. Here's how I see it:. Smear and Fear. Seems to fit very well. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

State of the Nation: Ratzinger in America
http://fear-nation.blogspot.com/2008/04/ratzinger-in-america.html
State of the Nation. A rant about current events and the progress/decline of the American ideal. Monday, April 21, 2008. It's pretty clear that I bear no great love towards the Church (capitalized for identification purposes only). That said, as with all things in this world, I cannot help but consider it from various perspectives, and try to get to some truth as I perceive it. What caught my eye this time was a confluence of Catholic-related news, highlighted by the Pope's visit in the US. Some word of ...

So what should I wear today?: H&M in Seattle - first impressions
http://wardrobe-dilemmas.blogspot.com/2008/08/h-in-seattle-first-impressions.html
So what should I wear today? Friday, August 1, 2008. H&M in Seattle - first impressions. I saw it. I shopped in it. And I quite like it. It occupies two floors in the new wing of Westfield mall and has all sections: women's, men's, baby/children's, maternity, accessories and lingerie. Fortunately, accessories and basics are, as always, well equipped and very price competitive:-). I ended up buying a black men's fedora, a scarf and several basic black t-shirts, and paid total of $35.00. a bargain. Fashion...

State of the Nation: America's Saving Grace
http://fear-nation.blogspot.com/2006/09/americas-saving-grace.html
State of the Nation. A rant about current events and the progress/decline of the American ideal. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. In trying to deal with my general depression about the state of the world, and the USA in particular, I get encouraged each night while watching Jon Stewart, and each day when I discover people around me are also regular viewers. People were being displaced and were dying, getting maimed, their lives getting destroyed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Traveled the world as a ...

State of the Nation: Singularity
http://fear-nation.blogspot.com/2008/04/singularity.html
State of the Nation. A rant about current events and the progress/decline of the American ideal. Friday, April 04, 2008. Am I the only one freaked out by the pace of communications technology progress? Late for a meeting? Not sure where to meet up? Catching up with friends out on the town? Nothing simpler. Just whip out the cell. How did people meet 20 years ago? And how would I find the time to constantly update this information a dozen times a day or more? Don't these people work for a living? I reache...

So what should I wear today?: Let's party!
http://wardrobe-dilemmas.blogspot.com/2008/07/lets-party.html
So what should I wear today? Monday, July 14, 2008. Do you too experience neverending struggles with storage space? It seems to me that no matter how big my closet is, my clothes do not fit in there. Unless it were to look like this (though I will pass on the leopard skin). So I have started to think of organizing a clothing-swap party for myself and my girlfriends and getting rid of all too tight t-shirts, too short skirts and too-itchy sweaters. What is a swap party? The rules are simple:. For every on...
