A Sport's Blog with an Obvious Bias. Sonnen Did Not Look That Good. Posted in Mixed Martial Arts. On August 12, 2010 by Christopher Sarda. Sonnen Did Not Look That Good. The blogs and the articles are all talking about how Sonnen beat up Silva for four rounds and how Silva in true champion form found a way to win. That’s more than twenty minutes of beating Silva the same boring ineffective way and we’re surprised that a world class jiu-jitsu mixed martial artist was able to sneak in a triangle? They’re w...

Technology and Learning Languages. The Polish language will have to wait for French and Spanish. Learning a Language Is Like Moving to a New City. March 11, 2010. Learning a new language is like moving to a new city. When you move to a new city you don’t really know where anything is, but slowly while completing this and that errand or going to this or that restaurant, the terrain begins to become more and more familiar. You know you’ll get there eventually. Feed for this Entry. June 20, 2010 at 9:01 pm.

Traditional Language Classes… They Try So Hard! January 5, 2011. This post though isn’t about opinions or disagreements on methodology, or anything else controversial, as much as I love that stuff. It’s simply about great everyday people who love to learn languages, and loving languages is something that almost no one reading this post can argue with. I’ve included videos that I feel most represent the traits I like most about each of the following bloggers. So in no particular order:. Here’s Steve...

Practicing a Little Polish, Talking About a Polish Fighter. Philosophy of Language and Reality and Human Development. January 1, 2011. I yammer about the philosophy of language over at my humanist exploration blog. Learning Through the Abstract vs Learning Through the Direct. The Way to do Shakespeare. Benny the Irish Polyglot. July 15, 2010. Our friend Benny over at Fluent in 3 months. Posted his results for his German C2 exam. I think he failed in his opening goal (one part, the sounding like a native speaker he completely dropped), but I also think he did a great job. Sadly he did not study in the way that he claims to be the best way. Responses to “Benny the Irish Polyglot”. Feed for this Entry. Yeah, he does k...

Traditional Language Classes… They Try So Hard! February 17, 2011. I almost feel bad for my Spanish professor. I can tell she loves language, she loves her native Spanish language, she speaks English well and I believe her degree is in French, but the methods she relies upon are quite obviously bad. You’ve all been in these classes… Learn present tense, learn past tense, memorize verb conjugations, demonstrative pronouns ect ect. Responses to “Traditional Language Classes… They Try So Hard!
