The Personal Blog of Everett McCoy. Knock Knock Who’s There? Posted by Everett McCoy. On February 1, 2011 at 1:47 am. The Lord told Cain “Sin lies at the door…” The Hebrew word for “sin” here is chatta-ah, which has a complex meaning. At least three very different English words must be used to accurately translate what the Lord is telling Cain – and understanding them is the key to victory in our life! Salt – the Bitter-Blocker. The Personal Blog of Everett McCoy. The Law of Fruit Trees. Early in my fifth year of pastoring, my friend Dr Bill Phares was preaching at ConnectPoint and used this verse in his message. As it turned out, the Lord had given him a prophetic word for me from this verse – but I wonder how many “fruit-growers” out there could benefit from it as well… After all – it’s the Bible – a Word for everyone! The truth is – we weren’t really doing anything different. As a matter of fact, I can’t...I suppose this goes...

And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them. 2 Kings 2:23-24 (KJV). The Personal Blog of Everett McCoy. To the Chief Musician – Part 1. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth. Even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Psalms 40:1-3 (KJV). Was David chosen because he could produce a song? The s...

The Personal Blog of Everett McCoy. Divine Healing: At a Crossroad. I’m on a journey This journey began years ago, as I began to sincerely pray the prayer of the church in Acts chapter 4. And grant to your servants that with all boldness they may speak your word, by stretching out your hand to heal. And that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus. Are these mutually exclusive paths? I don’t think so. I hear what they are saying but there is the question that simply ...

The Personal Blog of Everett McCoy. Hike for a CURE. Due to the recent hantavirus outbreak in Yosemite National Park ( http:/ aol.it/OEZgYN. Hike for a CURE has been relocated to the Kaiser Wilderness area, just south of Yosemite. Nearly all of those involved in the hike have family members or close friends that have weakened immune systems due to chemotherapy treatments for hystiocytosis and so the trepidation that any visitor to Yosemite might feel at present is multiplied. That’s good news for me!

The Personal Blog of Everett McCoy. Of Bald Men, Bad Boys, and Bears. Posted by Everett McCoy. On March 23, 2011 at 9:49 am. The story of children being mauled by bears after they mocked Elisha is a bit disconcerting. It’s certainly not one to put in a bedtime storybook, is it? But is the story teaching a lesson to children, or to the next generation of leaders? A Fire of My Own Making. Posted by Everett McCoy. On March 3, 2011 at 2:37 pm. The Law of Fruit Trees. The Personal Blog of Everett McCoy. A High Hand: Fists Raised in Defiance. As a life-long KJV junkie, I decided this year to do my Bible reading in the New Living Translation It’s been very enlightening. Not really because I didn’t understand the KJV but because the wording is SO different in the NLT that it makes me think again. Who had left with fists raised in defiance. Fists raised in defiance. Most of us picture our exodus as one beaten, broken, and poor stripped of strength, our hope of posterity g...
