One of the many jewels found along the way while our residents were atving through the desert. The Saguaro Cactus can grow to 70 feet tall and are native to the Sonoran Desert. The saguaro blossom is the State Wildflower of Arizona. Saguaros have a relatively long life span. They take up to 75 years to develop a side arm. Harming a saguaro in any manner, including cactus plugging. Is illegal by state law. The office is closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. We look forward to hearing from you!

One Day More...: January 2015

http://billinnebr.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 30, 2015. We've had overnight rain that has continued off and on into an overcast day. No doubt all the desert plants need the rain, so we're not complaining and the forecast is for sunny days this week. There are some desert plants and a tree already in the site, as can be seen in the first photo, however we thought more would be nice, so we added another tree and bushes seen in the second and third photo. Just one day more. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. A Lesson To Be Learned. President Mu...

Ramblin' Robert | Travel tales

About ramblin’ and Robert. March 31, 2012. Hiking at Gunsight Rock. I started hearing about Gunsight Rock at Hood Mountain. But, a really cool discovery was a kind of wildflower that I’ve never seen before. Common name is Indian Warrior. And it is a beauty! Interestingly, it is a hemiparasite, meaning it can grow on its own but will opportunistically parasatize the roots of some plants. One of those plants is manzanita. Posted in Bay Area. October 18, 2011. A ride up memory lane. Along the way, I saw wal...
