January 2015 ~ From Here To There
http://aaronandmichellelarsen.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
From Here To There. Livin' with the Larsens. Kilimo Timilifu means 'holistic farming' in Swahili. It represents an effort to empower Tanzanian subsistence farmers to transform rural communities through conservation agriculture. Kilimo Timilifu (KT) is situated in the town of Mchinga Mbili, not far from the Indian Ocean. Though beautiful, this region has severe physical and spiritual needs. See Mchinga and the Lindi Region on a map. Friday, January 30, 2015. We are in Tanzania! Ready to fly at JFK. Soleil...

everyone needs a little Grace in their lives: His Name Will Be John Jeremiah
http://gilandamy.blogspot.com/2015/07/his-name-will-be-john-jeremiah.html
Saturday, July 18, 2015. His Name Will Be John Jeremiah. He's going to be our new son, and we are hopeful he will come home in just a week or two. We can't wait! Johnny is three years old and will be four in October. We fell in love with a lot of the kids on our trip to Forever Angels,. John is his orphanage name, and we thought about changing it, but the more we thought about it, we couldn't imagine calling him anything other than Johnny. Have continued to exemplify these words:. Friday, December 26, 2014. Tropical Christmas Season.in Pictures. Just in case there's any question as to what we are dealing with down here under the equator, here is the proof:. Please don't be jealous of us. I'm not. But here's our Christmas season, sweat and all. We don't do Santa, but Josiah took it upon himself to put this together. Yes, there's a pillow under his shirt and yes, that's a sock hanging from his mouth. HOPAC's Annual Christmas Fair. Annual gingerbread house making. Not from kits!

everyone needs a little Grace in their lives: This is Why I Am Pro-Life, Not Just Anti-Abortion
http://gilandamy.blogspot.com/2015/08/this-is-why-i-am-pro-life-not-just-anti.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. This is Why I Am Pro-Life, Not Just Anti-Abortion. Start with the Right Argument. This generation, everybody knows that a fetus is a human life. Pro-Lifers need to stop thinking it's a convincing argument against abortion. Pro-choice advocates no longer try to convince people that a fetus is just a blob of tissue. 3-D ultrasounds fixed that notion long ago. Maybe there's some uneducated 15-year-old girl out there who still thinks that, but not the abortion advocates. Is a myster...

everyone needs a little Grace in their lives: The Dreaded Christian F Word
http://gilandamy.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-dreaded-christian-f-word.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. The Dreaded Christian F Word. Want to know the best way to make sure no one comes to your church meeting? Tell them it's about Fundraising. Want to know a way the pastor could make that meeting really, really interesting? At the end of his pitch, he calls up the elders and deacons, hands them the microphone, and asks them to announce how much they plan to contribute. Sound like a meeting that you would want to go to? Maybe if you're not an elder or deacon. A sophisticated man in a ...

Here in Tanzania ~ From Here To There
http://aaronandmichellelarsen.blogspot.com/2015/01/here-in-tanzania.html
From Here To There. Livin' with the Larsens. Friday, January 30, 2015. We are in Tanzania! Ready to fly at JFK. All smiles at the FPCT guesthouse (below). We spent the next several days applying for driver's licenses and a tax ID number to register our vehicle. This involved several trips into town to take eye exams and fill out paperwork. We have also been able to connect with many of the missionaries based here in Dar and have enjoyed being a part of that community immensely. 901 E 78th Street.

everyone needs a little Grace in their lives: February 2015
http://gilandamy.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. War on Thursday Mornings. The sun is still rising at 7:30, and it casts palm tree shadows on the soccer field. The students have all jostled their way into their classrooms, a mess of lunch boxes and castle projects and blue polo shirts. We sit on the picnic tables under the roof made of thatch, everyone in their classes or offices except a few lone gardeners sweeping, raking, watering. And us. You washed my sins away! Tuesday, February 24, 2015. I ended it with the challenge...

everyone needs a little Grace in their lives: Grace's Pilgrimage
http://gilandamy.blogspot.com/2015/07/graces-pilgrimage.html
Saturday, July 18, 2015. I'm from Moshi," Grace would always proudly announce. So we drove 340 miles up north to Moshi, the city that rests in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. She saw the building where she lived until she was 10 months old; she toured the orphanage and she met Mama Lynn, the founder of Light in Africa and the woman who welcomed her as a newborn. God has been so good to us. It was good to remember. Outside the building that used to be the baby home where Grace lived for 10 months. On Piles of ...

everyone needs a little Grace in their lives: November 2014
http://gilandamy.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Friday, November 22nd, 5:00 pm: Pumpkin pies came out of the oven. Sadly, I do not have Costco this year. I am back to cooking pumpkin pies from this:. This ain't no mamsy-pamsy carving pumpkin. This is a PUMPKIN. You couldn't carve this pumpkin unless you had a chain saw. We had to hack the thing open. Thankfully, it made delicious pies. Receive a text message from Lauren. Can you cook two chickens for tomorrow? Our turkey option fell through so we are just doing chicken.
