Wednesday, February 25, 2009. My weight has never been a cause for my concern until recently, and now only because of comments I have received because of it. Such as, "If I didn't know better I'd think you were anorexic," and "You're getting reallllllllly skinny, Katie. Like really skinny," and "Are you sure you're eating enough? No wonder people noticed. Do people really think I look anorexic. I began to feel inadequate or that my weight and figure were wrong in some way. These feelings didn't last long...

But the neck is getting too small and the bib part is too short to really keep Norah clean. In addition to those complaints, the sleeves are too short and too tight. If you have a serger, then serging the edges all the way around is the easiest. If you don't, then just zig zig stitch around the edges. Any of these things will work. Here is the finished smock-b...

The story of those I love and the life we live. Friday, August 31, 2012. Lots of Dill Pickles! Dill Pickles (8 Quarts). 2 quarts apple cider vinegar. 2 1/2 quarts water. Combine and bring to a boil. Apple Cider Vinegar mixture getting ready to boil. Here are my cucumbers. in the second water bath with lots of ice. In bottles: Add 1 garlic bud, a sprig of dry dill (check out your local produce section), and a pearl onion to a sterilized quart jar. You can see the dill, garlic, and pearl onion in the jar.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Okay, I've allotted myself 8 minutes to blog before I need to get Joshua up for the day. So here goes a quick pregnancy update! I feel: fantastic, unless I have to work a long shift or sit in a chair for long periods of time. I love this phase of pregnancy. I hired a personal trainer at the end of my first trimester to help me stay motivated to keep in shape, and I've been working out 4-5 days a week. It's made a huge difference this time around. I've gained: 20 pounds so far!

Whenever he's trying hard to do something, like open a bag of fruit snacks, he'll make little frustrated grunts and say, "I can do it! I can do it! I could go on and on. Friday, May 21, 2010. I couldn't believe how quickly and smoothly the birth went. I went from 5 cm dilation when Roxanna arrived to completely dilated in just under an hour-and-a-half. I let my body push him down for about 10 minutes, and then I pushed through one contraction for about 30 seconds and he was born! The bag of water broke as he was born, and he came out "sunnyside up"- or completely posterior, in other words. And for the icing on the cake, I didn't have a single tear! So happy for you!
