Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Easy to make dish, with leftover idlis. Leftover Idlis - 5. Idli Podi - 2 ta. sp. Gingelly Oil - 1 ta. sp. Mustard seeds - 1 ts. sp. Curry leaves - 10. Dry red chilli - 2. With your hand make the idlis into small pieces. In a pan heat the oil , add the mustard seeds.Allow them to crackle. Add red chilli ,curry leaves . Dropin the idlis. Among all the payasams , i like semia-javvarisi payasam. Simple and easy to make. Vermicelli/Semia - 1/2 cup. Javvarisi/Sabudana - 1/2 cup. Milk - 1/2 litre. Sugar - 1/2 cup. Cashewnuts-Dry grapes - 1/4 cup. Ellachi powder - 1 ts.sp. Ghee - 2 ta. sp. Finally add the roasted cashews and grapes. Serve them hot or cold.
