Figure 2a With owner and gear aboard the dinghy floats lower in the water than when empty but with sufficient freeboard to carry one extra person. Caution : in the excitement of the maiden voyage the owner has forgotten to wear his life jacket! All wearing their personal flotation gear.

This website is about Liverpool class motor lifeboats, used from the RNLI from the 1930's up to the 1980's. They were often the first motor lifeboats at stations, and most of the carriage launched RNLI lifeboats were Liverpools. The RNLI has been active for a great number of years within the Rutland area, originally starting as a Guild. The Guild was made up of a number of ladies who worked tirelessly to raise funds for the RNLI through street collections, lunches and teas and, over a period of more than 50 years, they produced excellent results.
