A taste of blue feathers. Random thoughts on life, food and IT. Calibrating a 5″ Raspberry Pi touchscreen in Jessie. Previously, I posted about a 5″ touchscreen for the Raspberry Pi. But I did not mention calibrating the touchscreen. After a week’s holiday, I came back and sorted this fairly easily. I was using Raspbian Jessie from NOOBS 1.8. First I installed a new utility:. Sudo apt-get install xinput-calibrator. Sudo nano /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/98-calibration.conf. My entries are below:. You are c...

wyliecoyoteuk – A taste of blue feathers

A taste of blue feathers. Random thoughts on life, food and IT. Wile E. Coyote, for those who don't know, chases a blue bird called a roadrunner, in hope of dinner. I have a hunger for knowledge, and the occasional taste of blue tail feathers keeps that hunger sharp. 16 x 2 character I2C LCD display. This is the sketch I used to test them with an Arduino Uno:. Set the LCD address to 0x3F f...

Rants on computing, politics, and life. Posted on September 16, 2012, 9:57 pm, by Kathryn Huxtable, under Other. As you can see by my profile picture, I decided to color my entire head blue, with some purple and green here and there. It’s been a month, and I’m really enjoying it. It is fading somewhat, but still very bright. There is a certain amount of regrowth, and I’ll be bleaching my roots and recoloring it this weekend. More of the same, I think. Rants on computing, politics, and life. Posted on January 15, 2014, 9:47 pm, by Kathryn Huxtable, under Food. Somehow I have omitted my signature recipe from my blog. Rants on computing, politics, and life. I have always read a lot. Generally, I focus in one area for several years and then move to something else. I’ve always read a lot of science fiction and fantasy, though I read less these days than I did ten or fifteen years ago. My current reading is not really focussed in any one area. I’ve been reading some mysteries, some sf, some economics, some astrophysics, some mythological analysis, some history. Which was a sequel to. My argument against all this is:.
