Saturday, February 9, 2013. I would say I mildly trained for the Goofy Challenge. If pressed, I would define that training as doing almost every long run with the Redhead. And that my longest long run was 16M. Regardless, I sat fearless with my Cuz Saturday morning as we watched the fireworks start the half-marathon at 5:30am. And watched more fireworks for more corrals. And waited some more. And at 6:25am our corral was finally sent off. Our plan was to take the half easy but comfortable. And that we did.

SC Loves to Run! Getting Back My Shine. March 24, 2010 at 7:56 pm Posted in 1. Up until about a year ago, I went to Power Vinyasa classes at a wonderful yoga studio. Now, the yoga is gone and with it went my shine. My runs lack enthusiasm and strength. I find my thoughts drifting often to my inability to improve instead of staying present and accepting my body’s current ability. My joyful, cheerful disposition has been replaced by a sullen, insecure being I don’t recognize. Will find my joy. I need to.

SC Loves to Run! Today’s Training Plan. March 23, 2010 at 5:04 pm Posted in Marathon training. It’s Tuesday which normally means a hill repeat run followed by an hour and a half of swim lessons. Not tonight, though. My swim instructor is out of town; therefore, tonight will be a run and an hour swim. Tonight’s run is supposed to be 8 miles of hill repeats with the emphasis on the downhill. Thursday, September 24, 2009. 1 Alison has to memorize a memory verse, from the Bible, every week. When she does, she gets a sticker on her forehead. And a sticker on the chart. So far she has never missed a week of getting stickers.
