What It’s All About. This blog will chronicle my journey from heartbreak to healing through running. On May 2, 2010, I plan to run the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinatti, Ohio. By the time I cross that finish line in nine months, I will be healed, I will be my own person, and I will be a marathon runner. To participate in the fight against Lymphoma and Leukemia! I’m in Cincinnati. What does it mean? On friends and the Boston Marathon. The Longest Run Ever: Part IV. Amandine on A Start, Sort of…. Fill in y...

calm down: Cousin Fun

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/08/cousin-fun.html

I had gigs all day, but Dan took the kids up to Ft Collins for some fun with the cousins earlier today. I'm so glad they get to grow up together! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). calm down: Kindergarten for Emily!

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/08/kindergarten-for-emily.html

Even though she's gone to preschool the last three years, it still feels like a big deal to send Emily off on the bus for her first day of Kindergarten! She's been very nervous about the bus, actually. Someone said something about "catching the bus" a while back, and ever since, she's been uncertain about how to "catch it." I've tried to explain that it will stop for her, but even last night, she was still very anxious about how it all works. Caleb is NOT excited about sending her off to school.

calm down: Halloweeen 2010

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2010/11/halloweeen-2010.html

This was a much happier Halloween than last year to be sure. Emily was finally. Feeling healthy again (for the most part) and was actually quite excited to dress up as a zookeeper. She originally wanted to be a flower, a dog, or Curious George, but none of those costumes were available in her size. This zookeeper costume came with a little monkey for her to wear, and we found a monkey costume for Bix too. Bix's monkey hood didn't stay on very well; this is the only picture we could get with it on. Box in...

calm down: Scottish Fest

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/09/scottish-fest.html

Granny and Papa came to town for the big Scottish Fest in Estes Park, and we joined them up there for the fun on Friday and Saturday. We didn't get too many pictures, but here are the few we have:. Definitely no shortage of bagpipes! Caleb is always quick to make new friends. Excited for the parade to begin. Emily is our playground girl! When the kids are a little older, it would be fun to go back and stay for more than just the parade! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Bowl Full of Lemons.

calm down: First Halloween

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2008/10/first-halloween.html

Much cuter photos to post tonight! See, Emily was a little cow for Halloween this year. We were both pretty sure that the head-piece wouldn't stay on for long, but much to our surprise, she never really noticed it was there and walked around happily all night with the whole costume on. Bix wasn't really involved in the festivities this year, but we did get this quick picture of the two of them. Am I'milking' this one for all it's worth? Seriously, I'm done now. VERY cute pics. :). calm down: Halloween 2011

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2011/10/halloween-2011.html

Emily insisted on being Dora the Explorer for Halloween this year. Trying to persuade her otherwise was useless. It was actually a very simple costume considering we already had the appropriate backpack and orange shorts. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Caleb is he. R best friend, but he did get to be her sidekick for the evening. Just the right age to dress as Boots, I daresay. He didn't tolerate the headpiece for long, but it was cute while it lasted. calm down: Pumpkin Patch 2013

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/10/pumpkin-patch-2013.html

After a very windy trip to Anderson Farms last fall and then a very, very cold field trip there with Emily a few weeks ago, it was delightful to go again as a family with beautiful weather yesterday. I suspect we'll be back again next fall! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Bowl Full of Lemons. Dance Amidst the Storm. This Life I Live. It all started when two people fell in love. calm down: Halloween 2013

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/11/halloween-2013.html

We went for coordinating costumes again this year. Emily was easily convinced to be Little Bo Peep, but Caleb wasn't so excited about being her little lost sheep. I ordered their costumes in advance, but we didn't talk much about it until last week. The night before Halloween Caleb declared that he was going to be a polar bear. "Perfect! Neither of them was eager to sit for photos before trick-or-treating. No complaints about hooking her sheep, though! Links to previous years:. 2008 - Emily as a Cow.

calm down: Houston Trip

http://alwaysmary.blogspot.com/2013/11/houston-trip.html

Just returned from a trip to Houston to visit Granny and Papa. Lots of fun and delicious food, as usual! Granny planned a really fun Boardwalk party for Emily while we were there! This little guy won't be the baby for much longer. How is she already six years old! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Bowl Full of Lemons. Dance Amidst the Storm. This Life I Live. Running Through Daydreams

Monday, April 19, 2010. Where does one draw the line when it comes to advertising? There is a lot of bad advertising out there that promotes unhealthy habits such as the consumption of alcohol and drugs; but there is a lot of good advertising as well. Advertisers try and lure in their audience in order to sell their client's products. I believe advertising becomes irresponsible when deceptive or misleading ads are produced. For example, when McDonalds. To be skinny, flawless, and sexy you need. And misle...

Mondays can often be a shock to the system for us corporate cubicle-dwellers. Especially now that June is here and weekends are usually abundant with fresh air and sunshine, hunkering down in a grey, windowless, stuffy cubicle can seem even more oppressing than usual. I find today extra challenging though, since I spent most of this past weekend laid up on the couch with a nasty virus. I bounced back just in time to start the work week, naturally. I feel robbed. How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. Waipoo F...

Making Sense of Running Long…. A Bit About Me. Ifs, Buts and Maybes…. May 20, 2015. My mind is unsettled and the quality of my running ebbs and flows. Running Through It - the best way out is always through. ~ robert frost

I was going to create this whole “August Goals” post, but now I realize that August is almost half over with and 2015 is rapidly coming to a close. That’s right – there are 137 shopping days until Christmas and 143 days until 2016. I had so many plans for this year and feel like the year is just slipping by. It’s been a difficult year though and I am still going through a lot of grief. So, I’ve made a list of health goals that I. Run at least one race per month until the end of the year.
