Monday, June 1, 2009. Abe- Day 10-Movin' On. We have pretty much got the bridling issues nipped now, so it is time to move on. Abe is now being saddled and bridled with no restraint in the outdoor arena. The reason for this is that his owner was having to put him on the trailer in order to tack him up when at shows. There were no issues with this at all today. I then desensitized him to the dressage whip, spending quite a bit of time around his head, which I was pleasantly surprised he took to quickly.

Thursday, June 11, 2009. Mikey had a lesson in patience today. He was learning to stand tied to the round pen. He was pawing pacing and rearing up, very angry about being tied, but all and all normal reactions until. we are still not quite sure how he managed it but Mikey put his head through the roundpen panel, lifted it up and got his head stuck in the panel! Thursday, June 11, 2009. Mikey-On the Trail- Day One. Mikey's first trip out on trail was just a happy stroll through the woods, in hand. Mikey was very brave and adventurous. He crossed a 150' wooden bridge over a bog and several smaller bridges, mud holes, water crossings, all without hesitation. He saw deer and porcupine with not a second notice.
