Safer Child Products

Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Although it is important to clean our babies’ and young children’s teeth and gums daily, did you know that “the American Dental Association (ADA) recommends only non-fluoride toothpastes for kids younger than the age of 2.”. Fluoride is important to helping build and strengthens teeth, but too much fluoride can be bad for you. Very young children have not yet learned to spit and are most likely swallowing much of their toothpaste. Wednesday, February 13, 2013. According to safekid...

Safer Child Products: Safer Child Products

http://saferchildproductsblog.blogspot.com/2013/02/safer-child-products.html

Wednesday, February 13, 2013. I was so pleased to learn that my 3. Grader was being given a presentation on Medication Safety Awareness. A student nurse came to the school to do a series with them and gave out a booklet called “Medicine is Not Candy”, put out by the Poison Control Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Part of me wants to say that my daughter knows not to take any medicine on her own, or anything that is not given to her by my husband or I. Http:/ www.safekids.org/ass...Simpl...

Safer Child Products: September 2012

http://saferchildproductsblog.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 10, 2012. Our 3 y/o Niece has severe food allergies. One minute she is playing like any other little girl, then the next thing you know, s. He breaks out in hives from head to toe and gets very swollen. Yes, sometimes it is that fast and with unknown trigger. Her allergic reaction even includes diarrhea and can lead to difficulty breathing. It is so scary to see her like that. Last week she started preschool and I worry about her being around food from other students. She is not alone.

Monday, January 21, 2013. We recently got a new flat screen TV for our family room and were discussing what to do with our old, bulky TV. We decided to put it upstairs in our guest room. Though it’s not fancy or sleek, it still works just fine. We have a small cabinet type table that fits it perfectly. Did we secure it to the wall you might ask? Since our kids are now 9 and 12, we decided we didn’t have to. Toddlers and young children get into everything and move fast. Unintentional Injury in Children.

Safer Child Products: July 2012

http://saferchildproductsblog.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 31, 2012. I was speaking with a friend of mine who has a toddler and she was commenting on how her little one gets into EVERYTHING! Monday, July 23, 2012. This summer, my 8 ½ y/o finally learned to ride a bike without training wheels! This was a big celebration in our house. I knew that confidence was half the battle with her. I suppose the other half was just practice. Around the same time, her 4 ½ year old cousin learned to ride as well. Closed shoes are also important; Flip flops can sli...

Safer Child Products: Safer Child Products

http://saferchildproductsblog.blogspot.com/2012/12/safer-child-products.html

Tuesday, December 25, 2012. In the last couple of weeks, school violence and safety has been on everyone’s minds. It is hard to imagine that someone could do something so awful as what occurred at the Sandy Hook School in Newtown, CT. Why kill innocent children? It is enough to make a parent sick, and make you not want to let your children out of your sight! However, this is not realistic and not healthy for you as a parent, or for your children. Remember that children can sense your fear. This is a grea...
