Mental illness. Parenting. Faith. Abuse recovery. This is where I'm living right now, and this is what I'm talking about. Life is tough. A few years ago, an unexpected psychiatric hospitalization brought life as I knew it crashing to a halt. Over the next several months, I grappled with a new diagnosis of bipolar disorder, new realizations about the sexual abuse I'd suffered as a child, and major shifts in some of my closest relationships. It was the most painful season of my life.
