Sunday, June 01, 2008. When we brought Bella home after Ivy died it was very sad to see how she coped. She adopted a pink stuffed cell phone and a purple stuffed dog named Betty as her pups. They went with her everywhere, and she guarded them fiercely from Cooper and Amelia for the next three weeks. I couldn't believe the bad luck that I had been having with my dogs! Dr Sullivan told us that the most challenging part of the procedure, in addition to the cost, would be finding a donor match which would consist of tracking down Bailey's relatives, convincing each owner to give me a blood sample, and if their dog was a match to have their dog be Bailey's donor for the transplant. We raised a couple hundred dollars to get Bailey her x-rays and some bloodwork and medications, and her bones are fine and she has greatly improved with medications and bed rest! The vets figure that she just had a pinched nerve or a spinal cord sore injury. But she is almost all better, and is on kennel rest for another week, but after that she should be good as new!
