SCI UK's Objectives are:. The promotion of optimum SCI care in the UK, including prevention of SCI; acute care; rehabilitation; education and training. To ensure that the needs and views of service users are central to service provision and development. To provide information and advice to professional groups, health related organisations and governmental and statutory bodies. To initiate, promote and co-ordinate best practice within and between the SCI Centres and health care providers in the UK.

SCI UK Strategic Aims. SCI UK will aim to:. To be the affiliated body in the UK for ISCoS. Seek the establishment of a single Foundation Trust responsible for all acute/rehabilitation/readmission of SCI patients in England, while being the sole recipient of resources made available for the treatment of SCI in England (the Trust would commission services from the eight English SCI centres from their host trusts and be responsible for their management, organisation and standards).

SCI UK Streering Group. Representatives of each coalition organisation will meet regularly with the meetings being chaired by a service user, in order to uphold the coalition's user led status. The four organisations will annually nominate two representatives to sit on the steering group (with the exception of SIS who will only have one representative each year). The steering group has the power to co-opt others to the group should they deem it necessary.
