Mark Field Racing: London League Cyclocross Rd1
http://markfieldracing.blogspot.com/2012/09/london-league-cyclocross-rd1.html
Follow my racing exploits through my mtb and cyclocross seasons. Thursday, 20 September 2012. London League Cyclocross Rd1. Round 1 of the London league was held at the now traditional season opener at Fowlmead country park on the Kent coast. Always a fast, rough course, Fowlmead is never a easy first race. With a couple of laps to go my legs went pop and I was really struggling to recover from any out of the saddle efforts, meaning I was having to limit such efforts. Posted by Mark Field. So, its been a while since I have put finger to keyboard and updated the blog. Since the last time I have been a busy boy, but its just a shame it hasn't been on the race track. Training has obviously not...

Mark Field Racing: WSSMTB Round 1
http://markfieldracing.blogspot.com/2013/06/wssmtb-round-1.html
Follow my racing exploits through my mtb and cyclocross seasons. Monday, 3 June 2013. We its been 6 months since my last race in December and it seems to have gone in a flash, must be getting old! A 5 race series has been set up this year all within 40 mins drive of my house, cue a very happy rider here! The first round was held at a venue I had raced at previously and from what I could remember it was rough and fast. The new course was a definite improvement with more climbing, singletrack and techn...

Mark Field Racing: May 2012
http://markfieldracing.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Follow my racing exploits through my mtb and cyclocross seasons. Sunday, 20 May 2012. Due to the amount of rain we have been having in this drought I had to miss the second race I had planned to do this season. Having heard from riders who did travel to Essex for the Mud Sweat and Gears series I'm glad I missed it, hub deep mud and 100's of pounds in wrecked components didn't sound fun! All of this meant my second race would be the South of England champs, a nice easy race! Harry checking my bike for me.

Mark Field Racing: Southern XC RD5

Follow my racing exploits through my mtb and cyclocross seasons. Wednesday, 4 July 2012. Pre race warm up done and I line up with 12 other riders in some weak sunshine as we all glance nervously skyward at the clouds building this could be a wet one. As well as checking the sky people are checking other peoples tyres choices, mine I feel are optimistic as I have chosen to fit dry condition tyres which in the days preceding would have been fine, now I am not so sure! Mark Field Racing: National XC Championship
http://markfieldracing.blogspot.com/2012/07/national-xc-championship.html
Follow my racing exploits through my mtb and cyclocross seasons. Wednesday, 25 July 2012. So I left you last time looking forward to a National series round in Essex, however the weather had other ideas and a stupid amount of rain falling in the previous week to the event left the venue under water and inaccessible to motor vehicles, race postponed till August, joy! Dry weather tyres fitted and a 2hour drive later I was ready for the race. Just to give a little perspective to this race, senior men is...

Mark Field Racing: April 2012
http://markfieldracing.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Follow my racing exploits through my mtb and cyclocross seasons. Monday, 16 April 2012. 1st Race of mtb season. Races is always similar and there is never anything too scary. I lined up with the other 30 odd riders in the master category, (still can't get my head round the fact I qualify for the 30-39 age group) why master and not expert? Cats means I would always have someone to race. We popped out on a fireroad. All was not what it seemed as the lead rider had led us all off course. Confusion then ...

http://markfieldracing.blogspot.com/2012/09/british-xc-series-rd5.html
Follow my racing exploits through my mtb and cyclocross seasons. Thursday, 6 September 2012. British XC Series RD5. Finishing 15th at a national event is by far my best result at this level however I know the competion wasn't what it could of been so I'm not getting carried away! Next up I will be starting the cyclocross season in late September, I'm really looking forward to it as I feel in a better position than I did 12 months ago so hopefully I can put together some decent rides.
