When Matthew arrived to give me a lift I struggled to cross the road – pure black, pure ice! He managed a very gentle start and got us going and with an easy driving style we were on our way. An opportunity for me to keep you up to date with what I'm up to. NZ Day 10 Into Westland and Up the Coast. We managed to pack up and head out with the minimum of contact with the outside world. Heading North the first stop was after 1 km as the warning light indicated low coolant. Half a litre seemed to sort it out. All part of the authentic camper experience. Lots of thick frost on the car and 10 minutes hard graft to get it off. After all my moaning an worries about my calf muscles I got round the 17.5 miles and 1500 metres climb (pardon the mixed units). All of me ached at the end – not only the bits I was worried about. Her knee bends and there is little pain – a lot more mobile and easy that when I had more straightforward arthroscopy a few years ago. Knee Operation & Sugarloaf.
