Thursday, August 20, 2009. Before you start saying "Oh, why doesn't she just clean her own room", I just want to say that I'm doing this for a good cause. A" signed me up for the "Let's Clean Bengaluru", an event created by a Facebook group that inspires Bangaloreans to "Reclaim Bengaluru. It's Yours! It started out with the four of us but "A" managed to convince three other friends, a group of kids and a few random men in the park to join us. Friday, August 14, 2009. 30, Single and Overseas: A Muslim Wedding in Ooty
http://30singleandoverseas.blogspot.com/2010/12/muslim-wedding-in-ooty.html
Wednesday, December 29, 2010. A Muslim Wedding in Ooty. I can safely say that I have attended more Indian weddings than any other types of weddings. If the last Indian wedding. I went to in Goa was way too hot, this Indian wedding in Ooty was slightly too cold. Nonetheless, it was beautiful and a lot of fun, despite catching a bad cold. It was a good excuse not to drink shots. Ooty, where the air is crisp and the skies are (occasionally) blue. Day 1: The Sangeet. Day 2: The Brunch and The Manjha Ceremony.

http://30singleandoverseas.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Let me start off by saying that 5 days is NOT enough. My first choice was Pristine Resort, which offers huts the size of a single bed with shared bathrooms at Rs100 (US$2) or a double story hut at Rs1000 but because my roommate is inclined to stay at luxurious hotels, we instead stayed at Wild Orchid that costs about Rs5000/night (US$100). Beach #7, Havelock Island. Beach #7, Havelock Island. Elephant ride on the beach. Dive boats on Havelock Island. Friday, March 13, 2009. Visit...

http://30singleandoverseas.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 30, 2009. I know, at the rate I'm posting, it’d be Christmas but can I just say that it’s tough juggling a couple of start-ups. Catching up with people and trying to spend time with my two little terrorists (also known as my nieces) before I leave NYC again. Having been deprived of a whole year without Thanksgiving food ( Thanksgiving in India. The menu this year was I think, the most extravagant it has ever been. Our cooking game plan/oven schedule, courtesy of Joe Kon. To most American...

30, Single and Overseas: October 2009
http://30singleandoverseas.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 30, 2009. I’ve been very productive with social events and being a tourist in the United States of America. If you haven’t heard, I’m back in NYC. How does it feel like being back? At first, it felt like I was in a dream, very surreal and wasn’t sure if it was due to jetlag or utter happiness. After about 2 days, it felt as though I’ve never left NYC. A lot of people said I should update my blog name because I just turned 31, I finally came “home” to New York City and in the m...Here̵...

30, Single and Overseas: July 2010

Wednesday, July 7, 2010. If you think my life is all about hobbies, you're not too far off ;-). My friend Anj told me about Uncle Patel's glass-cutting class and at first, I was apprehensive but when I found out that Tiffany's lamps were made out of cut stained glasses, I signed-up right away. Here's Anj happily soldering her window glass with Murli watching attentively. What did I say about "watching attentively"? It's no Tiffany's lampshade but it's a lampshade I made, with Murli's help of course.

http://30singleandoverseas.blogspot.com/2010/04/sindhi-wedding-in-goa.html
Monday, April 5, 2010. A Sindhi Wedding in Goa. Since my last Indian wedding post, I must have attended (and been involved in) at least 2 more Indian weddings. This one was a destination wedding, Sindhi-style, most events were held in Goa and then a reception in Bangalore. It was done so grandly, I sometimes felt like I was in a Bollywood film. Day One: The Pool Party. The bride's family arranged for some performers at the pool party. Guests enjoying the show. Day Two: The Mehendi and Sangeet. Travel Ind...
