Friday, September 7, 2012. Options I'd LIKE to Hear When I Leave a Voicemail. Working at a doctor's office, I have to make those reminder calls you get the day before you are due to come in. And I don't mind talking to people, most of our patients are very nice. What annoys me is the Voicemail rigamarole I have to go through to leave a message when people *don't* answer their phones. First there is 30 seconds of "hi, so and so's not here to take your message.yada yada yada.". Here's how I'd like it to go:.

LaLa Land: True Blood: Queertastic? or Finally Getting Better?
http://www.thelalanetwork.com/2009/08/true-blood-queertastic-or-finally.html
Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Or Finally Getting Better? I love the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries. The books that is. From the opening credits, I knew that True Blood was not going to be that series on the screen. Here are my thoughts about the show:. Also, she worries a lot about money in the books and one of the reasons she agrees to some of the dumb set-ups with the vampires is that they might be paying her for her telepathic time; not even mentioned in the series. Originally, not liking him so much for the...

Friday, July 27, 2012. I Ate the Waffles off the Floor. This morning, determined to be to work by 7am AND to have some real food, I left a note out for myself saying:. And then I got the toaster out. And made my lunch. And made sure my travel mug was clean for coffee. Then I went to bed. And head for the door. I have my keys. I have my waffles. I have my coffee. I have on a clean shirt. But no, that is not what happened. I stare at them for a long moment, frozen. Then something in my brain is screaming:.

http://www.thelalanetwork.com/2009/04/i-found-this-article-on-cool-website.html
Monday, April 20, 2009. I found this article on a cool website which I just added to my list (I just went through Erika Robuck's Blog Roll and stole a few things! Lol) but my mom loves Nora Roberts and my parents still live in MD (where I spent most of my life) and I thought: Wow! But then, I thought I'd tell you guys too! Author Opens Literary-Themed Inn. February 18, 2009. Elizabeth and Darcy, perhaps? This week novelist Nora Roberts opened the Inn Boonsboro. In an interview with USA Today. Along with ...

LaLa Land: How “The Little Engine That Could” Perpetuates Gender Stereotypes
http://www.thelalanetwork.com/2009/03/how-little-engine-that-could.html
Thursday, March 19, 2009. How “The Little Engine That Could” Perpetuates Gender Stereotypes. So I’m reading the Little Engine that Could to my boys, and I notice something very suddenly: the Little Engine is female. And the two engines that refused to help the clown and toys were both male. Hmmmm…. I start paying closer attention to what I’m actually reading and notice a few things:. C’mon. She’s a woman, of course she can help you! And could they get more stereotypical? She only works at the train yard ...

LaLa Land: Movie Mondays: DVD Review: Toy Story 3
http://www.thelalanetwork.com/2011/05/movie-mondays-dvd-review-toy-story-3.html
Monday, May 2, 2011. Movie Mondays: DVD Review: Toy Story 3. If you haven't seen this movie, why the heck not? And there is an extra large heaping of what the Toy Story franchise does best: nostalgia. I'm not sure the kids get the whole wistfulness, memory, sadness combo, but boy, I was all teary-eyed by the end! Best scene: Ken trying on clothes for Barbie in the Dream House. Michael Keaton as Ken was hil-arious! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). All Logos and Designed Elements by:. LaLa Guest Spot: M...
