A Quest for Endless Oreo Cookie Consumption. Back on the Trail. August 15, 2016. After a long healing period for my ankle, I was able to get back on the trail last week for an “ankle shakedown” to see how it has progressed. Not a whole lot to talk about from that trip, other than to say that my ankle did great and my 18-month-old pup did well too! The rain was pouring down on my tent, but there was something else. Something loud! I realized that boulders were smashing down the hill behind me and headed directly toward me. I’ve never been so scared and so panicked in my life! The recent rains must’ve unstabilized the ground. Crazy! The trail after Olallie Lake has been so fast! Smooth and gradual climbs. So nice.
