Tracklister: EMI Record Tokens
http://tracklister.blogspot.com/2014/12/emi-record-tokens.html
As it's coming up to Christmas I thought I'd remember the once popular EMI Record Token. Something your Grandma bought you for a Christmas present or perhaps a birthday. So you could use it to buy "one of those pop 45s from the hit parade". At one time universally accepted in most shops their boom sales period came at Christmas time. They came in £1, £5 and £10 donations and you could then lick and stick as many on as you liked onto the card. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Music Master 1990 Long bef...

Tracklister: Bow Wow Wow Your Cassette Pet
http://tracklister.blogspot.com/2009/09/bow-wow-wow-your-cassette-pet.html
Bow Wow Wow Your Cassette Pet. Supposedly the worlds first Cassette single, a four tracker that didn't set the charts alight reaching No 58 (UK) December 1980. Anyway for your listening pleasure i give you their first hit. C30, C60, C90, Go. You would have thought this would have been a better choice for a cassette single, but no. It does show thought how time can fog the memory. I remember it being some sort of big hit single, but in fact it only managed No34(UK) in July 1980. Radio Jingles have changed...

Tracklister: Hank Mizell - Jungle Rock 1976
http://tracklister.blogspot.com/2014/10/hank-mizell-jungle-rock-1976.html
Hank Mizell - Jungle Rock 1976. DJ days this record sat in the same part of the box as the Locomotion, Hi Ho Silver Lining and various other 'guaranteed to get the party going' records i can play, if nothing else seems to be working. If it wasn't for You Tube i don't think i could honestly say i'd remember what he looked like. And i've never heard him sing it live, so this is a treat. http://tracklister.blogspot.com/2010/12/oldies-unlimited.html
Oldies Unlimited Catalogue No 77. I was gonna write something here about a record label called Old Gold. But i'll save that for another day because whilst i was looking through my collection to research more i found this monthly catalogue from approx 1987/88 and decided to change it to Oldies Unlimited. This wasn't a second hand service. These were unplayed vinyl oldies on the cheap. As a collector myself i found them a god send, especially for those really weird forgettable tracks that no one remembered.

Tracklister: Hi-Fi Sound Stereo Test Record
http://tracklister.blogspot.com/2015/01/hi-fi-sound-stereo-test-record.html
Hi-Fi Sound Stereo Test Record. Do you remember when people cared so much about the sound quality of their 'Hi-Fi' that they actually purchased albums to help set them up and test the quality? There have been many of these albums over the years and this one was mine. Not that I had any idea what the hell I was doing with it. The sound quality of Showaddywaddy-Hey Rock and Roll didn't improve much once I'd fiddled with the bass, treble and speaker positions. But I thought I was doing something. I seem to ...

Tracklister: Kenny Everett Radio Show
http://tracklister.blogspot.com/2014/10/kenny-everett-radio-show.html
Kenny Everett Radio Show. Even today there is not, and never has been, a DJ who comes anywhere close to the sound of Kenny Everett. He was the radio DJ equivalent of the Beatles. Groundbreaking, Weird and very funny. A genius as far as i am concerned, so lets take a trip down memory lane to a time when DJs used to be able to do whole 3 hour shows on their own without a 'Posse' of people in the background to laugh at their jokes.
