Ancient Ruins and Cenotes. Asymp; Leave a Comment. Last Friday Michal and I took a road trip to the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza. The ruins date back to around 435 AD. It is recognized as a Maya ruin but in fact it was heavily influenced by the Toltec and Itza as well. The architecture is impressive as well as just how big Chichen Itza was and is. Just when I thought we were done, we’d turn the corner and there’d be another path leading to another set of ruins. There is also a cenote – an open, na...

Prague - Small Town Wanderlust

http://www.smalltownwanderlust.com/2015/07/22/prague

Asymp; Leave a Comment. We arrived to a sunny, sweltering hot day in Prague. There were people EVERYWHERE! Michal and I spent a few days in Prague seven years ago and the crowds were nowhere near this overwhelming. The heat was so intense there were trucks parked in the main square with sprinklers on the back of them to spray down the hot crowds. We decided to combat the heat by finding a shady cafe and cooling down with an ice cold Czech beer. The Czech Republic produces some delicious beers! Prague has...

January 2015 - Small Town Wanderlust

http://www.smalltownwanderlust.com/2015/01

Asymp; Leave a Comment. I think I have finally rinsed all the sand out of my hair and the salt off my skin. When I woke up this morning I looked out the windows and was greeted with gray skies and snow flakes instead of sunshine, palm trees, and the sea. Staring out the window it was hard to believe that just over 24 hours ago I was thousands of miles away. How do I incorporate everything I learned and absorbed into my life now? How do I hold on to the curiosity I feel when I travel? Do I want to be home?

July 2015 - Small Town Wanderlust

http://www.smalltownwanderlust.com/2015/07

Asymp; Leave a Comment. Grief is a very personal experience. It’s complicated, it’s beautiful, it’s confusing, it’s never ending. I have spent the last two years fumbling through life with this gaping hole in my heart and trying to figure out how to be in the world without my best friend. Travel kicks up waves of grief for me. Like the lull of the ocean, these waves have grown comforting. How lucky I am to have been loved so much. How lucky I am that I still feel those I have lost and that I ...The Last ...

Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Today I would like to accept my award for WORST BLOGGER EVER. Seriously, it's been since May since I've updated. May. That's like 1/3 of my pregnancy. And since I didn't update for the first 1/3 of my pregnancy either, that means I'm in the last 1/3 of my.pregnancy. Yup, you read it here first. I'm in the third trimester. Monday, May 2, 2011. I realize I've been MIA but I promise it's been for a good reason. Yes, babies. As in more than one (two to be exact). No, I am not over...

Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Sally Hansen Salon Effects Review. This is a product I received free from Influenster Voxbox program to test. The Sally Hansen Salon Effects are nail polish strips that are actually made out of nail polish. They are supposed to last up to 10 days and come off with nail polish remover. What I love about this product is that there are so many different designs that you can choose from. It makes getting a manicure easy and cheap! Dr Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions Review.

The big day: 05.08.2010. I am beyond excited because I just signed up for my first basic. Pieces of machinery actually used them - setting the type and composing by hand. Fortunately, I think the basic idea remains the same regardless of the method, and this course is about 1/4 of the cost of that more intense one, so that's good. And for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, here is an image of and old letterpress:. Is a series of short clips from Boxcar Press on how it all works. So - a...
