Saturday, December 14, 2013. Not tonight, most likely. When asked, the nurse said that the odds were that Miriam would not die tonight. There is a degree of comfort there, but her struggle with this damned disease is about over. She won't make it to Christmas most likely. A week from Sunday the family is gathering here for a "Mom Celebration." Whether Miriam will be alive is doubtful, but it is the family getting together to remember this dear person. Boy i'm beginning to feel a little jinxed. just when i have pretty much gotten full use of my finger (from the avocado incident) i had a encounter with a nail, and needless to say, the nail won. Luckily i had a tetanus shot last summer so that was one less thing to worry about. i've now been 2 for 2 with injuries on summer holidays. maybe i should stay in bed on labor day!
