What I Think: Johnnie Cochran Dies, Commercial Lives

http://www.spencerb.blogspot.com/2005/03/johnnie-cochran-dies-commercial-lives.html

Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Johnnie Cochran Dies, Commercial Lives. So I am finishing up a homework assignment and a commercial for Johnnie Cochran's law firm appears on UPN 30 (every city in America has a channel like this one). It shows Cochran adamantly (and ironically) pleading to potential customers saying "It's not about the money anymore.". No $hit, Johnnie. May you rest in peace. Posted by Spencer Bryan at 10:48 PM. He seems to have law office everywhere. Literally. View my complete profile.

Thursday, February 24, 2005. And some of the people involved in it, make me absolutely sick. It is the most overblown excuse for something that should be important but some people think it is the end-all-be-all of their pathetic existence. more to come. Posted by Spencer Bryan at 10:03 PM. What I Think: Sports Managers

http://www.spencerb.blogspot.com/2005/03/sports-managers.html

Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Why do the managers for Ole Miss' various athletic teams always sport the apparel that their respective teams' athletes wear? You are not fooling anyone if you are 5'8" 125 and you are wearing Ole Miss Basketball clothes from head to toe. Anyone that spends a little time on this campus has probably noticed this trite phenomenon. I don't find anything wrong with loving the team that you "manage" but don't think that anyone actually believes that you play a sport. The New York Times.

Steven's Scribbles: December 2005

http://stevengriffin.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 30, 2005. Now that I have pretty much readjusted to Central Standard Time and recovered from the jet leg after our 16-hour plane flight, I figured I should post a few things about my trip to China. I also had the opportunity to be a guest on the campus radio station one night and was able to read the Christmas story from the Bible and share our Christmas beliefs and traditions. It was pretty cool compared to the radio work I do here at Ole Miss. Posted by Steven G. at 4:08 PM. I am a Chr...

http://stevengriffin.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 23, 2005. Ole Miss athletic teams have been without Colonel Reb for two years now. But it appears that some semblance of a symbol for the Rebels will make its debut at Saturday's Ole Miss-Wyoming football game. The Ole Miss Chopper. Oh well. They say the bike will be raffled off at the end of the year to raise money for Katrina relief, scholarships and for the student-athlete tutoring center. Posted by Steven G. at 3:38 PM. Monday, October 03, 2005. Well, I didn't ace it, didn't bomb it, but probably did well enough to be competitive at most area schools. I guess we'll find out for sure here in three weeks. Steven's Scribbles: June 2005

http://stevengriffin.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 21, 2005. How about a little summer update? For teh last month I have been serving at Kanakuk Kamps in Branson, Mo., a high-intensity Christian sports camp organization, doing PR work - mainly sports and feature photography. It has been exhausting, to say the least. Every morning begins around 7:45 am and I work hard and play hard until my head hits the pillow in my un-air conditioned cabin called Pebble Beach around midnight. I would love to hear from you. Steven's Scribbles: August 2005

Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Hurricane Katrina.storm of the century? Easily the most costly hurricane in U.S. history and possibly the deadliest, Katrina, has come and gone and left its damage. The effects were so widespread that my power here at Campus Creek was knocked out for nearly 24 hours and even power in Memphis was out in many spots most of the day today. Posted by Steven G. at 10:38 PM. Monday, August 15, 2005. Doing some renovations anyway. Posted by Steven G. at 12:19 PM. I am a Christian and wa...

Tuesday, May 17, 2005. O'Charleys coming to Oxford.who's next? On the heels of Applebee's re-opening on West Jackson Avenue, O'Charleys recently disclosed plans to build a restaurant of its own in front of Home Depot across from Chili's. Great news, for sure. My only question is can a town with about 25,000 residents from the middle of August through the middle of May (about 12,000 the rest of the year, including Christmas break) support so many big chain restaurants? Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Summer Update: Part 2 (As in, K-2! So, how fun has K-2 been? Will help you understand: (These are just a sample from the roughly 12,000 pictures I have taken since I arrived here in the Ozarks back in May.). The fans don't work it can be pretty miserable and impossible to sleep. Some of the guys in my cabin went down to the dock and slept in the boats. I know that I'll have an overloaded schedule when I get back to Oxford, so I need to enjoy the Ozarks while I can. See you s...

Steven's Scribbles: April 2005

http://stevengriffin.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 28, 2005. Strong rally fuels intramural championship. Today I finished playing in my first real tennis tournament, with a 6-8, 6-2, 6-3 victory in the final championship match over my nemesis, the other Steven (with a different last name) in a marathon match that lasted three hours, five minutes. I don't think I've ever played in windier conditions in my life than what we had today. Talk about constant adjusting. At least compared to everybody else's. Posted by Steven G. at 11:23 PM.
