Foster Family Fun: 03/2011 - 04/2011

Friday, March 25, 2011. I have been trying to get this post done for almost a week. Let's see if I can get it done today. Are you one that loves iced drinks but don't love the water it leaves on the table? The worst is when this happens while you are crafting with paper or in todays case, going through the store circulars. Then the paper gets all wet. I hate that! I'm sure you have seen all sorts of beverage sleeves. Typically they are used on hot drinks. Jennifer at Rockin' Bobbin. Just check mine out.

Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Colonial Market and Fair at Mount Vernon (& other surprises). Another beautiful day in D.C! The photo on the left is of Mount Vernon from the water. The photo on the right was looking down the river towards DC. You can see the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and the Washington Monument. We had to make sure we kept our special badges on! This building was an ice house in George Washington's time. It has a chute that is attached to the side where the slaves would place the ice afte...

The Zuspan Adventures...Life in Washington DC: March 2010

Sunday, March 28, 2010. On March 13th we went to see the Newseum located on Pennsylvania Ave. not far from the Capitol building. It opened in 2008 and is one of the few museums in DC you have to pay to go into, but it is well worth it! It is devoted to the First Amendment and the role of a free press in the democratic system. The first thing you see when going in is the 90 foot high atrium with a giant breaking news screen and a news helicopter suspended overhead. Many of you have probably heard of Tim R...

Wednesday, February 10, 2010. A different kind of adventure! A lot of the time, Kibron would just sit and take it all in. Kibron loved Kacie's old Cabbage Patch doll! Reece, Grandma Pati, and Kibron. We can't wait to see Kibron with his new brothers and sister! Sunday, February 7, 2010. Beauty After the Storm. After almost 30 hours of snow, the clouds finally cleared late Saturday and the sun actually peaked through just before sunset. Our car and bushes show some of the accumulation. Psalm 148: 7-8 says:.

http://ballfamilyupdates.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 3, 2009. What do you do with a "lazy" summer blogger? OK, I admit it. I am THE. Summer blogger. September is here and I didn't blog after June 23rd! I did check out the other people's blogs whom I follow and did notice they were a little lazy or non-communicative also. Have we been doing anything? Did I blog about it? Well, no. Has anything special happened? Almost too much to list or try to remember, and maybe more than we want to remember. Rita went to the Jr./Sr. Prom. Charlie and ...

Sunday, July 18, 2010. Just a few more pictures from our day trip with Nate and Shell through the Shenandoah National Park. Of course, the standard pics together at the entrance, and at an overlook. We learned from a park ranger that Shenandoah National Park has the highest density of black bears in the US. We saw several, but only got a shot of this one. This was fawning season, and we saw some cuties with their moms. It was a great and eventful day trip there. Thanks for coming to see us, Barb and John!

Sunday, November 21, 2010. Love the Fall Colors. Fall colors seem to be drawing out longer around here this year. While some trees have totally lost their leaves, there are still some that display brilliant colors. Here are a few trees around our neighborhood that make it so enjoyable as we come and go . A tree across the street, morning (left) and afternoon (r). A neighbors tree with our house in the background. Others around the corner. Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Monday, November 8, 2010. Monday, May 31, 2010. Philadelphia Story - Part 6: Christ Church. Construction of the current church building began in 1727. The steeple was a prominent feature in the Philadelphia skyline of 1776. It is a beautiful, wooded setting. The church grounds are the final resting place of two signers of the Declaration of Independence. The interior is classic, beautiful historic church motif.
