where's the beef? Vegetarians in Melbourne: December 6, 2010: Pomegranate Tofu
http://herestheveg.blogspot.com/2010/12/december-6-2010-pomegranate-tofu.html
12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE. Thursday, December 09, 2010. December 6, 2010: Pomegranate Tofu. We had some vegie box asparagus and lettuce to use up and a whole pile of spanakopita. Leftovers keeping us lunched up for the week, so we decided to make a big serve of this green salad. To accompany it, Cindy suggested we whip up a quick batch of K and Toby's pomegranate tofu. Adapted from In the Mood for Noodles. Who adapted it from Cooking Books. 500g tofu, sliced into 10cm by 5cm rectangles. MmmI cannot make good...
where's the beef? Vegetarians in Melbourne: Kiwi cashew slice
http://herestheveg.blogspot.com/2015/08/kiwi-cashew-slice.html
12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE. Sunday, August 09, 2015. August 2, 2015. Our vege deliveries tell me it's kiwi fruit season, so I bookmarked Emma Galloway's recipe for raw kiwifruit ginger 'cheesecake'. The moment I saw it. With melting oil and maple syrup going on, it's not strictly 100% raw, but it's that little bit more workable. Very slightly adapted from My Darling Lemon Thyme. 1 1/2 cups dried dates, pits removed and roughly chopped. 2/3 cup raw almonds. 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted. 3 cups raw cashews.
where's the beef? Vegetarians in Melbourne: David Chang's Brussels sprouts

12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE. Saturday, July 25, 2015. David Chang's Brussels sprouts. July 19, 2015. When I got all excited over Brussels sprouts last week. There was another recipe I took a good look at. This one. Was developed by David Chang of Momofuku fame, and enthusiastically endorsed by The Amateur Gourmet. While these were happily gobbled up by all at the table (including a Brussels sprout first-timer! David Chang's Brussels sprouts. Adapted slightly from a recipe on epicurious. 1/4 cup vegan fish sauce.
where's the beef? Vegetarians in Melbourne: Rice pudding
http://herestheveg.blogspot.com/2014/08/rice-pudding.html
12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE. Thursday, August 07, 2014. July 20, 2014. Thanks to houseguests and vege boxes, we've recently been inundated with kiwi fruits. I've never really developed a taste for their tartness, so I got to thinking about desserts I might be able to hide them in. Some went into an ugly yet edible vegan bastardisation of this financier recipe. But that only took down two. Cashew cream and frothy gelato. Came to mind, but I really wanted something warm and winter-friendly. 3/4 cup coconut sugar.
where's the beef? Vegetarians in Melbourne: 12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE
http://herestheveg.blogspot.com/p/12-hours-in-north-melbourne.html
12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE. 12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE. We've been calling Melbourne's inner north home for upwards of eight years now! In that time we've discovered some awesome places to eat, some cool things to do, and developed a lot of affection for the neighbourhood. Brunswick, Carlton, Fitzroy and Collingwood are relatively flat and when the weather's good they're well suited to cycling. (Trams, the occasional bus and a waterproof hoodie each serve us well enough at other times.). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

where's the beef? Vegetarians in Melbourne: Pear & caramel icecream
http://herestheveg.blogspot.com/2015/07/pear-caramel-icecream.html
12 HOURS IN MELBOURNE. Monday, July 27, 2015. Pear and caramel icecream. July 18-19, 2015. Last week I enthusiastically renewed our vege box order with CERES. Except that I actually ordered an all-fruit box instead of a mixed fruit and veg box. We were beset by multitudes of bananas, apples, kiwi fruits, oranges and grapefruit, more than a dozen mandarins, a couple of limes and four pears. We've been working through them - stirring the limes into creme fraiche for sweet potato wedges. 3/4 cup castor sugar.

Tuesday, 15 November 2016. Foam Shapes and Numbers! Foam shapes are such a fabulous tool to get children to count, learn shapes/colors and to build their imagination. My main objective for the kids while doing this activity was to help them to count but it brought out many other aspects of learning and that made me very glad. I simply gave children some foam shapes and asked them to create something out of it. They used their creativity and made many designs. Monday, 31 October 2016. I made a set of sequ...
Spoonfuls of Peanut Butter
Spoonfuls of Peanut Butter. Saturday, April 30, 2016. Rosemary Red Potatoes and Parmesan. In Tennesee the spring has all the promise of getting here but hasn’t quite delivered yet. We are stuck in the in-between phase of warm sunshiney days and gloomy rainy ones. In the midst of the waffling back and forth, farmers are putting out old root vegetables from their root cellars. To tide us through the in-between period of spring-feeling weather and spring-delicious crops. Rosemary Red Potatoes & Parmesan.
