Fred | On the Long Ride
https://squamishmtb.wordpress.com/fred
On the Long Ride. Fred is an intermediate single-track of a 1km length that is host to several local toonie races. It is moderately technical, with a good mix of wooden bridges, uphill and downhill ramps, roots, rock, and short punchy uphills, that make it a challenge to maintain a fast and steady rhythm. On the Long Ride. Another Man’s Gold. Another Man’s Gold is one of the most fun (although short) trails to ride in Squamish. http://in-thelongrun.blogspot.com/2015/12/2015-year-measured-in-adventures.html
In the Long Run. A blog about running and life. Thursday, 31 December 2015. 2015: A Year Measured in Adventures. How to reflect on the incredible year of running I've had? If I look at 2015 by the numbers,. I've logged over 2300 km and, according to Strava, gained almost 57,000 m of elevation in 237 hours of running (this is an under-estimate, because my GPS watch dies on runs over 5 hrs, of which I did quite a few! Let's try another summary method . Won the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series;. Although I wear...

In the Long Run. A blog about running and life. Sunday, 18 September 2016. This is a difficult post to write. I've been trying to start it for a while, but every time I do, I get overwhelmingly sad and have to stop writing. But I know that in my toolbox, the two best tools I have for coping with stress and heartache are writing and, of course, running. And so, as hard as it sometimes is, I continue to do both. La Route Verte (the Green Route), Sherbrooke QC. Pic de l'Ours (Bear Peak), Quebec. Although I ...

In the Long Run. A blog about running and life. Tuesday, 17 May 2016. I like writing blog posts about wonderful races and wild running adventures. Who can blame me? The last time I ran uninjured, 6 weeks ago. This is not how healing works. Healing works by listening to your body. By being honest with yourself about what it needs, and giving it that. And by letting go of that incessant drive to propel yourself forward without veering off course: sometimes (and I know this, I really do! A couple days ago I...
