Jul 29, 2015. I did it again. And just like last time…I’m glad I did! Sometimes when I’m trying to maximize capturing the dynamic range of a scene, I’ll take bracketed exposures of the scene throughout the shoot. Sometimes 3 bracketed exposures…sometimes 5. When I get back to my studio, I’ll generally pick one set of those bracketed exposures. I’ll then use various software programs and techniques to more or less blend the images together. Aug 11, 2015. I probably would NEVER photograph a rabbit unless it was a category in the Wildlife In Focus contest. This image was a surprise for me on several levels. I had set up at the Cactus Blind on the Texas Photo Ranch to shoot birds. I had created a very nice perch and had just gotten back in the blind when this guy shows up for water. Aug 10, 2015. I made this image of the resaca on the Texas Photo Ranch during the Wildlife In Focus contest. It’s one of my favorite places on the ranch…. There was a category in the WIF called Water/Wetlands…and YES…this image made my contest portfolio! It’s certainly not my favorite of all of my entries, but I’m pretty proud of it. Jun 6, 2016. I was like most kids. I’d lay on my back and stare at the clouds and try to “see things”. It was fun. I still love to watch clouds. But I now prefer sitting in a chair to do this…it’s easier to get up! This is a time of extremely dynamic weather here on the Coastal Bend of Texas. Aug 9, 2015. I especially love to photography Redhead ducks! I made this image out on the Texas Photo Ranch while I was competing in the 2015 Wildlife In Focus photography contest earlier this year. We had been having early morning thick fog on what I call the “Family Pond”. Every morning we could here a LOT of ducks on the pond, but it was just too socked in to make any images. I laid there in the dark…in fog that was so thick it was actually closer to rain…and tried not to think about snakes. Required ...

I spent the very BEST part of the day at the beach today…. This morning I made the short drive over to the Rockport Beach Park. I wanted to frame the sunrise with some of the iconic features of this GREAT beach. The wooden bridges over the dunes and the palapas on the sand are one of the most photographed features on this beach. I wanted to combine both and put my spin on this scene. I’m happy with it!
