Ben Cabe Blog: Living The Christian Life: Who Is My Neighbor?
http://www.bencabeblog.com/2013/04/who-is-my-neighbor.html
Thursday, April 25, 2013. Who Is My Neighbor? Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. One of the most dangerous tendencies of every human being is to mentally divide people into categories of people. So how do live this truth day-to-day? I think this can be very practically applied by remembering to look. Interaction with the subject. Interaction with the person. This is the kind of attitude we should have with everyone. And I struggle with this. We hold the keys to our house&...And t...

Ben Cabe Blog: Living The Christian Life: Socrates Against Abortion
http://www.bencabeblog.com/2011/11/socrates-against-abortion.html
Tuesday, November 15, 2011. It occurred to me as I was watching the 180 movie. That Socrates would be against abortion under any circumstance, even that of rape. Socrates recognized that he was responsible for the condition of his own soul, and no one else's. Likewise, whoever rapes a woman is responsible for his sin but if the woman conceives she is responsible for how she deals with it. If she aborts the baby then she has maimed her soul. If you are struggling with this issue please watch the 180 movie.

Ben Cabe Blog: Living The Christian Life: On Pornography And Personhood – Abiding Or Not Abiding In Christ
http://www.bencabeblog.com/2013/07/pornography-and-personhood.html
Tuesday, July 23, 2013. On Pornography And Personhood – Abiding Or Not Abiding In Christ. Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Nature Of The Problem. First a word on the nature of the problem: I am not necessarily convinced that the prevalence of pornography addiction within the Church is a result of its accessibility. Accessibility is a problem. But it’s not the problem. Are not Christians supposed to be light even in the darkest places? I believe the answer is that. Over time, th...

Ben Cabe Blog: Living The Christian Life: Is Rob Bell A False Teacher Or Are Evangelicals Judging Hypocrites?
http://www.bencabeblog.com/2013/03/is-rob-bell-false-teacher-or-are.html
Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Is Rob Bell A False Teacher Or Are Evangelicals Judging Hypocrites? Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner. I have not read Rob Bell's new book. But, in all likely-hood, neither have the Evangelicals that are hurling insults at him in various forms across the web. I intend to read, What We Talk About When We Talk About God. I just haven't yet had the chance. In fact, I am excited to read it. I actually enjoyed his previous book, Love Wins. Satan is a slippery...

Ben Cabe Blog: Living The Christian Life: One Thousand Gifts Or One Thousand Wrong Theological Assertions? – Ann Voskamp Book Review
http://www.bencabeblog.com/2013/07/one-thousand-gifts-or-one-thousand.html
Tuesday, July 2, 2013. One Thousand Gifts Or One Thousand Wrong Theological Assertions? 8211; Ann Voskamp Book Review. Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. My sister recommended reading, One Thousand Gifts. Firstly, this book is not a systematized theology or formal set of propositions. The fatal error of Divine Simplicity is that it negates any distinction between God’s essence and His energies [3]. The essence-energy distinction deals with how an ultimately transcendent, unknowab...

Ben Cabe Blog: Living The Christian Life: Chapter 1, Part 2
http://www.bencabeblog.com/2011/11/chapter-1-part-2.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Chapter 1, Part 2. If you have not read part one, click here. I must also note that I am hypocrite. The things I have written surely reside as concepts in my mind but I often fail to practice them. If we grasp the concept without practicing the truth then we have done no good whatsoever. I pray that God will remind us to practice that which we so eagerly pronounce as a conclusion but so readily forget as an action. Chapter 1, Part 2. In conjunction with women. There is one piv...

Monday, October 1, 2012. A Slight Detour – Broken Down on the Side of the Road. Tanding on the side of the freeway because the driver's side steer tire blew on the RV we were driving back from Charlotte, North Carolina . . . It was a bumpy stop–our driver said he did not know how we stayed on the road. Had we not, we would have rolled down a 20'. I looked at the driver. His arms were shaking as he fought against the bus for control–and to keep us on the road. Finally, we stopped. Atching all the cars spe...

Ben Cabe Blog: Living The Christian Life: Christians Are Meant To Suffer
http://www.bencabeblog.com/2013/04/christians-are-meant-to-suffer.html
Monday, April 22, 2013. Christians Are Meant To Suffer. Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. I thought to myself, I’ll just have to love them like Christ loves them. And that’s when it hit me . . . In order to do this I have to be willing to love them regardless of who they are or what they do. I used to read the “love your enemies” passage and think to myself, well, I don’t really have any enemies. And can I just say something. This term, “righteous anger” that I s...Absolutely...
