Pragmatically Charged: April 2009
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 2, 2009. The Bible In A Beaker. I attended a lecture at Pitt yesterday, where Bob Enick (who wrote the book Evolving in Eden. Spoke about the compatibility of science's claim of The Theory of Evolution and a creationism viewpoint. Overall it was a decent lecture. I learned a bit, but had heard a lot of the material before. I may skim through the free copy of Evolving in Eden. Then, this morning while browsing through Facebook. It sounded interesting so I looked up some info. God placed a ...

Pragmatically Charged: October 2008
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2008. I'm not a historian, not even close, so this blog may ring very wrong in your ears. But regardless I am writing this, and hoping that there is at least a portion of truth within it. When the colonists came to the Americas they came because they wanted. 160;a place where they could practice freedom and liberty for all men. When Americans began expanding West, they did so because they wanted. 160;to find a life and wealth for their own. It also drives us to our division in politi...

Pragmatically Charged: December 2008
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 25, 2008. I posted a blog on my other site that is probably more geared to this one, so here is a link. Posted by Stephen P. Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Along For The Ride. I have stumbled upon some very sensitive material that Hollywood doesn't want you to realize. That's why I'm going to be writing a book called "Hollywood Insights 'They Don't Want You To Know About,'" seeing as how this format is working so well for Kevin Trudeau. Media greatly determines what we will accept as ou...

Pragmatically Charged: June 2008
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 20, 2008. When You Take The Time. The call to "give to anyone who asks of you" stirred my heart and I pulled a $5 bill out of my wallet. Posted by Stephen P. Why Do English People Stammer So Much? NT Wright was on The Colbert Report last night. As most guests, he didn't get to say a ton, but it's still kind of neat. Posted by Stephen P. Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Letter To A Son. I've mentioned this author, Matthew Paul Turner. He is now a father to be and wrote a letter. To his son expressin...

Pragmatically Charged: February 2009
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 7, 2009. Last weekend was YFC's Student Leader Retreat. It was a weekend that was on course to be the usual great time of bonding and learning. and indeed the retreat was all of those things, but it certainly was not typical. Saturday afternoon three of the girls went out for a hike through the woods. Several other students and staff had taken the same excursion, following the paths down to the creek. But due to some confusion, the girls took a wrong path. Our search team was equipped ...

Pragmatically Charged: September 2009
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Life from the Center is a life of unhurried peace and power. It is simple. It is serene. It is amazing. It is triumphant. It is radiant. It takes no time, but it occupies all our time. And makes our life programs new and overcoming. I'm reading a really great book right now called " Freedom of Simplicity. By Richard Foster. I am being challenged in the way I live, think, and understand simplicity. One of the parts of the book I read recently spoke of Frank Laubach's. Try the c...

Pragmatically Charged: A Little Too Dangerous
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2009/05/little-too-dangerous.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2009. A Little Too Dangerous. So apparently the U.S. Military has destroyed many Bibles. That an American soldier was desiring to distribute to the Afghani people. The government does not want to be tied to the promotion of any particular religion, which I can understand. It's not their place. And the Bible is probably more dangerous than the U.S. Military is prepared for, so their fear is appropriate. Posted by Stephen P. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Check Out My Daily Account.

Pragmatically Charged: March 2009
http://pragmaticallycharged.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 6, 2009. Just A Gun Lovin' Gal. I don't quite get the current fascination with guns, or for that matter, the predominantly Republican obsession with them. Should owning a gun be legal? Sure, I think so. But why would you really want one, other than for hunting? Buying a gun for protection is something understandable (although I might take a different position personally), but can't the line quickly get blurred between what is protection and what is aggressive (called necessity)? And of all ...

Pragmatically Charged: November 2008

Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Hippie Generation Y. Because We Gotta. I wish I knew more about history. I pick up the pieces, hearsay, and cliches of times past and make conclusions from them, but it's truly hard to know whether my deductions have any credibility without first learning from those who know. The things that I guess. Growing up watching The Wonder Years. And she wasn't the only one. Perhaps it was all the babies that came from the "free love" that jostled the hippies into the realization...
