The group was headed to the Holocaust Museum and the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), so Susan and I opted out and explored Jerusalem on our own. . From our hotel we walked to the wall ringing the Old City. . We entered the Old City through the Jaffa Gate and proceeded to get somewhat lost in the Armenian Quarter. After leaving Orlando at 11:00 a.m on Saturday and meeting connecting flights in Washington, D.C., and Frankfurt, Germany, we arrived in Tel Aviv on Sunday afternoon. We toured the Sea of Galilee area all day today, going into the Golan Heights and culminating in crossing the sea by boat. . First stop was the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount. We arrived in Jerusalem mid-afternoon and went to the Mount of Olives for a view of the city. This photo of the Temple Mount and surrounding area was taken before we reached the Mount of Olives.
