The day before my birthday I headed up to Newcastle, travelling first class on the train as a birthday treat, to make up for the fact that, for the third year in a row, I was heading up there alone. I REALLY need to sort my disastrous love life out, at this rate I’ll be travelling up there for my 40th birthday alone! What a depressing thought! July 5, 2012.

It seems only fair, but somehow I’ve managed to be pretty much penniless and living in a rented shoebox that I can barely afford instead. I’m sure the rule is supposed to be that of the three major areas in your life – love life, friends and career – you only get two to be great at a time, but I’m not quite managing any at the moment!
