sunny side up: chasing balloons
http://drosenmeyer.blogspot.com/2015/04/chasing-balloons.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. The day began with good intentions. It was the Monday morning after a productive weekend where I had spent hours ticking items off my to-do list. We were starting a new book in our homeschool, which is always (usually) exciting and motivating for the kids, and I was more than prepared, had my time carved out, and was ready to roll. I just knew this day was going to be good. My 7-year-old finally being able to buy a toy he'd been saving money for by doing odd jobs around the house.

sunny side up: a thursday
http://drosenmeyer.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-thursday.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. I'll forget the sleepless nights, tantrums, potty training, door slamming, and tattling.or at the very least remember it with a humored fondness. But the sharp edge of difficulty that comes with parenting young children will be dull and less severe, and I'll forget the day-to-day. To my future, forgetful self: A Thursday. Ryan feeds Stella breakfast because she just can't take it anymore. I'm sure. Finally done with my file! Caden: How long would it take to walk to Iowa? I shower&#...

sunny side up: January 2014

Monday, January 13, 2014. A crafty little Christmas. It's that time of year again. That time between this year and next, between wanting to leave the tree up forever and then ever so slightly feeling that tiny urging to move into normal again, but then not wanting to let go of the hand of Christmas and all that sweet holidays entails. (and is it seriously the middle of January already? And speaking of crafting, I had the craftiest Christmas ever. But I already talked about that. The playhouse tent. I...

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Iowa, Part II: milestones. Although I wouldn't say that our first couple of weeks in Iowa started out slow-paced, the 2 weeks to follow were huge. Full of milestones, celebrations, people, and traveling. Some events full of sheer elation; others not as joy filled. First up. Stella turned one. After her nap, Stella cheered up long enough to open a few presents when we returned home. A new kitchen set awaited her at home in AZ, so she received a few items to go along with it.

Wednesday, July 22, 2015. I tried to keep it together today, I really did, but the morning had a haze of gray covering it that never really lifted. I was tired, let the burden of my job hang too heavy, and lacked patience. I hate giving into the weak part of my character like that. A mom I've admired and followed for a while on Facebook, Heidi St. John ( www.thebusymom.com. Especially in today's society, I think a lot of us are becoming more and more afraid to be outspoken as women (people) of faith....

sunny side up: June 2013
http://drosenmeyer.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 21, 2013. One year ago today. Wonderful, shrieking, slippery you. Before your arrival, I have to admit I was afraid. Of not being able to handle what was coming my way. Of not living up to whatever expectations are placed on a mother of three. But I hadn't imagined you. That you would make me a better mother. That you would teach me to relax, slow down, absorb time and fill myself with the love floating through my house a bit more. That you bring to us is immeasurable. My sweet Stella Junebug.

Thursday, January 15, 2015. Why I'm done saying, "we're done having babies.". As I type, my newest little lamb is sleeping on my chest. Her rhythmic breathing, in and out, hypnotizing me, calling me to fit my face into the folds of hers, and breathe. She stirs, fusses, and I gently guide her into position for an early morning nursing session. She’s helpless and trusting and eats hungrily. I love my babies. Their purity, innocence, softness. I love watching them blossom into the people they will become.

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. A note to my unborn. I'm 37 weeks pregnant. And through it all, there was you. and me. We've prayed for you, dreamed of you, talked about you, prepared for you. Now there's not much more to do but wait. The end of pregnancy is such a surreal time; you just never know when life as you know it is going to get shaken up. But here is what I do know:. I don't know you and yet I do. I feel you every night, every morning, and throughout the day. This pregnancy has given me an extra ...

sunny side up: rainy day
http://drosenmeyer.blogspot.com/2015/07/rainy-day.html
Friday, July 3, 2015. A few weeks ago, we had a house full of sick that lasted far longer than it should have. Sore throats, coughs, pinkeye, virus-induced hives, fevers, body aches, you name it. Luckily the stomach flu managed to stay at bay, but still. Normally we spend part of most days somewhere else. Even if it’s just a quick walk to the park up the street, we like to step out when possible and not stay cooped up too long. So this particular week, this week of constant inside-ness, was a challenge.

Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Sometimes the best laid plans just don't come to be, but as I'm slowly learning to roll with the punches and not let my disappointment in things not working out the way I thought they should take hold I'm finding that often things work out even better than I thought. Or at least equally as good. I was so bummed. I wanted to blame Ryan and threw my usual. I always have to plan everything. But I can rally. I turned to AZ Central and linked to family friendly weekend events and lear...
