The Melting Spot: Third Thursday: May 2009
http://crayonmelting.blogspot.com/2009/06/third-thursday-may-2009.html
Thursday, June 11, 2009. Third Thursday: May 2009. This is me, demonstrating my technique outside Wild Sage on North Street, Pittsfield, MA on the city's Third Thursday's event. I try to be there every Third Thursday from May to October. These photos show how I start out by holding the crayon(s) against the medium-hot iron and let the colors drip where I want them. July 8, 2010 at 7:38 PM. Hey thanks for sharing this. I love new techniques and admire people who experiment with them - and in public!

The Melting Spot: Tools to Get Started
http://crayonmelting.blogspot.com/2009/06/tools-to-get-started.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Tools to Get Started. The most important tools to get started in making melted crayon paintings:. 1 An iron with no holes on the bottom:. 2 A heat gun, typically used for paint stripping:. Try to find one with more than one setting. I have used three so far. The first one was really old and weak, and perfect! It even has different nozzle attachments (which I haven't tried yet). This one was $100. 3 Boards - wood, masonite, anything rigid:. Oh, and don't forget the other basics:.
