How I like my greens. May 1, 2009 · Filed under Uncategorized. I’ve been going to the over-priced organic grocery store (when I can afford to) and I am always tempted by the ‘Emerald Sesame Kale’ which I’ve purchased when I needed fast food, knowing full well it was way over-priced and I could make it at home. However, I had just never found that recipe….and I had never really experimented with soy sauce marinady type stuff. Creamy Almond Dijon Dressing. Makes enough for two salads. I copied that from ve...

I have moved or traveled extensively every summer for the last 5 years…I hope sometime I’ll be stable enough to have my own garden. 1 Response so far ». April 24, 2009 @ 5:53 pm. June 5, 2009 · Filed under Fruits and Vegetables. So, Dan and I arrived in ATL just a few days ago, but I had already decided to order a box from the Moore Farms and Friends. CSA I decided to go for the big box ($30) for my first go-round. Since I’m unemployed I have plenty of time to cook and hopefully none of it will go to waste. Behold:. I subbed quinoa for the barley, cuz that’s what I had on hand, and added some fresh dill. So good. ATL friends: Let’s hang out! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Fill in yo...

Baby shower follow up. May 15, 2009 · Filed under Desserts. So, the baby shower that I catered was two weeks ago and it was fabulous, if I do say so. The theme was loosely “mediterranean” but also including things – like fruit pies – that are the mom’s fave. The menu:. I always at least double the onions). Tzaziki (store-bought – only because I like it better than any I have actually made myself). Crudites with olive oil and za’atar dipping sauce. Goat’s milk gouda and crackers. Rhubarb and berry pie.

When my avocados ripen I will make it again and add those! 1 pound thin rice noodles. 3 large cloves garlic, peeled. Cup Thai or Vietnamese fish sauce. Cup fresh lime juice. Just wanted to share my excitement. March 28, 2009 · Filed under Uncategorized. I finally found someone to partner with (lab friend, Monica) in purchasing a share at Root’s Farm CSA. I have been trying to find someone to split a share since I moved to Athens and had just about given up (after being unsuccessful the last two years). There are 4 ladies in my lab, who all knit together once a week – and now we are all paired in CSA membership as well. 1 Response so far ». April 3, 2009 @ 8:42 pm.

May 20, 2009 · Filed under Desserts. As I was getting ready to post this, I realized that a rhubarb pie was just posted as a part of the baby shower gorgeousness. Obviously it was swirling around in my subconscious when I was shopping the other day . . . ). I was in the produce section of whole paycheck the other day and came. I used a prepared pie crust because I was making a labor-intensive dinner (more on that in the next post). I’ve only made two homemade pies crusts before – I’...Not perfected it, a...
