I helga løp jeg fra festival til festival. Ferdig med kåseriet mitt på Ibsen- og Hamsunfestivalen i Grimstad, løp jeg rett til Mandalsbussen og Skalldyrfestivalen der. Men fra nå av kaller jeg den bare bursdagsfestivalen! Det er nemlig andre år på rad jeg feirer bursdag i Mandal. Jeg har hørt om folk som er født på nyttårsaften uten å skjønne at alt fyrverkeriet ikke utelukkende var for dem før de ble ganske så gamle. Særlig når jeg også har klart å tuske til meg verdens beste reisefølge i år som i fjor.
