Raven's Den: ranting 1
http://ironraven.blogspot.com/2007/10/ranting-1.html
Tuesday, October 2, 2007. There is something that has been bugging me for a while, and it finally getting into the mass media. Starting about, oh, ten years ago, the US military tried to move a lot of support functions out of uniform and into civilian contractors. OK, we've done this for years- most of the troops ships in WWII were not USN/RN/RAN vessels, but civilian vessels. But once you were on dry land, or even near dry and unfriendly land, the civilian vessels got out of dodge. Because they aren't m...

Thursday, December 6, 2007. Gaming, setting/campaign idea. I know, this hasn't been the most active blog. Things are a little stressed here right now, and it hasn't been at the top of my agenda. I recently had an idea for a game. No matter how stressful things are, I'll probably always have ideas for games bouncing about in my head. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Gaming, setting/campaign idea. Raven's Den: Gaming, BEER WARS!
http://ironraven.blogspot.com/2007/09/gaming-beer-wars.html
Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Gaming, BEER WARS! Beer Wars is a name that I ran across a while back online, and it was basically a drinking game for RPGs. Not my thing, but I loved the name. Since then, I've poked and prodded this shapeless, colorless blob of ideas that the name conjures into a shape. And what a shape it is. Day two is their first scenario, find out the characters work together, get them broken in. Day three is when the fun begins. Think of it as the exchange program from hell.

Raven's Den: August 2007
http://ironraven.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Anywho. This is the first of a series of stories about a team of mercenary engineers in the BattleTech setting. The title is Running. You look like you could use a drink.". Thank you." I sipped again. "Who are you? I'm Jane, I pilot Tubby. The Charger. You had a camera, not a gun- reporter? She flexed her hands unconsciously, as if on the controls of her mech. I sipped at my drink again. "What ship is this? I saw the emblem, I didn't recognize it. Who are you people? She leane...

Raven's Den: Gaming, Fellowship of the Squeak
http://ironraven.blogspot.com/2007/09/gaming-fellowship-of-squeak.html
Friday, September 21, 2007. Gaming, Fellowship of the Squeak. The Fellowship of the Squeak. Is the working title for a game setting I've been toying with for about a year now. I still have to get mechanics beaten into shape, but I can talk about the setting. On DeviantArt, The Rats of NIMH and a classic British RPG, Bunnies and Burrows. (No rabbits as PCs though- too big.). Packrats are a little larger, a little stronger, and make very good merchants, traders and (so it is rumored) thieves. The random bi...
