Ted’s (Excellent?) Adventures

A travel blog reporting on our family’s adventures — big and small. A Very Long Sunrise at Bryce. June 10th, 2010. First, let me be quite direct. I love Bryce Canyon. The fact that I was shockingly, stunningly stupid here is not Bryce’s fault. Not at all. I’ll explain how dumb I was in a moment, but first a few words about Bryce and southern Utah. Posted in North America. June 9th, 2010. We started a nine-day hiking trip in Southern Utah at Zion National Park. It’s a spectacular park, with stun...To get ...

A travel blog reporting on our family’s adventures — big and small. Laquo; Idling In Orlando. Rosie Meets the Yankees, Sort Of. We spent a day in Tampa earlier this week, and did our best to find Tampa’s hidden gems. Almost every place we go has a few, although some are harder to find than others. I must admit, though, that 24 hours wasn’t enough for us to crack the code in Tampa. To cap the evening, we swung by a Coldstone for ice cream, and brought our pig in (who is very fond of strawberry). Much ...

A travel blog reporting on our family’s adventures — big and small. Laquo; Rosie Meets the Yankees, Sort Of. Our trip to Florida has taken on a vivid shade of red. Well, last night, I lowered the volume of the alarm, and buried it under some clothes. Better yet, I awoke quite early this morning before the alarm went off, and disabled the alarm. Best (or worst, depending) of all, I already heard the loud squeals of our pig. I’ve got a video. We’ve also had our share of cold, rainy weather on this tr...

A travel blog reporting on our family’s adventures — big and small. Laquo; Day 7: Pigsh@t Hitting the Proverbial Fan. Day 8: Katrina’s Toll. After leaving New Orleans, we had a leisurely drive east along the Gulf Coast, stopping for an hour to play on the beach. The weather was still a bit brisk, but the sun felt great, and the sand along the Gulf of Mexico is so soft and white. This entry was posted on Sunday, February 21st, 2010 at 12:43 am and is filed under Travels With Rosie. From your own site.

A travel blog reporting on our family’s adventures — big and small. Laquo; The Color Red. Our trip to Florida wound its way down to Naples for a day, and it will be the highlight of our time in this state. We visited Corkscrew Audubon Sanctuary, caught up with long-time friends, and went to an amazing restaurant, the Naples Tomato. If you’re within fifty miles of Naples, Florida, it’s worth the drive to come to this great restaurant! You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0.

http://ted.dintersmith.org/2008/02/09/baseball-in-ba

A travel blog reporting on our family’s adventures — big and small. Laquo; The Cordoba Countryside. Normally, baseball people think of “BA” as Batting Average. From now on, though, we’ll think of it as Buenos Aires! But he pitched really well, including striking out the side in the last inning. His team, though, got the short end of the bat, in a game that no one seemed to care about the score, and everyone seemed to care about having fun. An intensive course on Spanish, and Bob comes to Argentina every ...

Qwertyuioplkjhgfssazxcvbnm,./’ []. Archive for the ‘Uncategorized’ Category. Monday, October 1st, 2007. Dolphins are really interesting animals. They are mammals and live in the water, which I find very amazing. Dolphins are smart and they enjoy the company of humans. One of the most exciting things I’ve done is come within five feet of a dolphin at Little Saint Simons Island. Fun facts about dolphins:. Dolphins have 100-200 teeth. Five types of dolphins live in fresh water and 26 live in salt water.

When we we went to Dana Nature Reserve, Gibson flipped a rock and found a Death Stalker Scorpion! We got really close to it but then a guide told us it was the most poisonous in the world so we backed off. We also saw an Nubian Ibex, which I spotted (and see picture at bottom) and lots of lizards. Now Dana Nature Reserve is a camping and hiking area for tourist. The tourist pay to...
