Skip to main content. New staff members and fellows: December 2016. I'm a telecommunications engineer graduated from Warsaw University of Technology. Since joining the ALICE Data Acquisition team I've been taking care of the data flow monitoring system of the experiment. In addition, I'm strongly contributing to the O2 Upgrade for Run 3 by: evaluating network and message-based transport libraries; developing code for the new software framework; designing and implementing web-applications. Electronics Sys...

An ambitious p-Pb data taking campaign just came to an end | EP Department newsletter
http://ep-news.web.cern.ch/content/ambitious-p-pb-data-taking-campaign-just-came-end
Skip to main content. An ambitious p-Pb data taking campaign just came to an end. These asymmetric collisions were originally meant as a benchmark to control for background effects unrelated to the production of a quark-gluon plasma, expected in Pb-Pb collisions simply due to the use of Pb nuclei instead of protons in the collisions. Distinguishing the two classes of effects in Pb-Pb collisions is difficult, whereas the study of p-Pb collisions allows physicists to isolate them one from the other. Lead i...

New measurement of the W boson mass by the ATLAS collaboration | EP Department newsletter
http://ep-news.web.cern.ch/content/new-measurement-w-boson-mass-atlas-collaboration
Skip to main content. New measurement of the W boson mass by the ATLAS collaboration. The W electroweak gauge boson was discovered in 1983 at the CERN SPS collider. Although the properties of the W boson have been studied for more than 30 years, precise measurement of its mass remains a major challenge. Figure: The ATLAS measurement of the W boson mass is compared to the Standard Model prediction from the electroweak fit, and to the combined values measured at the LEP and Tevatron colliders.
