Climate Girl: December 2009
http://climategirl.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Musings and reporting by a climate activist mom. Thursday, December 17, 2009. 50,000 people from around the world have gathered in one place because of their commitment to address climate change. There is pervasive acknowledgement by the majority of the power brokers that this treaty must be a righting of social injustice, as well as an act of healing the environment. And providing all the ecosystem services that they do when part of healthy forests, than they are cut down and dead. Of course, we aren't&...

Lady Liberty plus ME: January 2008
http://iamsorryworld.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Lady Liberty plus ME. This blog is written with the help of my alter-ego Lady Liberty. I am not responsible for any offense you may take to her Comments. Here are some of the random links i've found this week; when you're out grocery shopping, here's a place to text from your phone to tell you if the fish you plan on purchasing is ocean friendly. Some news that seems to have slipped by the American mainstream - China bans free plastic bags. The new (maybe only) intellect of our century. Links to this post.

BlumeTimes: Yes Yes yes
http://blumetimes.blogspot.com/2012/01/yes-yes-yes.html
Thursday, January 19, 2012. My friend Karen just sent me this poem by Kaylin Haught. I love it! I asked God if it was okay to be melodramatic. And she said yes. I asked her if it was okay to be short. And she said it sure is. I asked her if I could wear nail polish. Or not wear nail polish. And she said honey. She calls me that sometimes. She said you can do just exactly. What you want to. Thanks God I said. What if I cavort with squawking saints. Forage with a crowd of long legged water angels.

BlumeTimes: Rising Tide
http://blumetimes.blogspot.com/2011/12/rising-tide.html
Saturday, December 17, 2011. My latest VPR commentary. You can listen to it here. Recently, I went to a concert given by some performers from remote Pacific island nations which are being rapidly inundated by rising sea levels - one of the many unfortunate consequences of climate change. Chatting with some of the performers afterwards, one of them told me that a little atoll where his grandfather used to live is already gone. Another young man said, "We are warriors. No matter how high the ocean ...I hug...

BlumeTimes: July 2010
http://blumetimes.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 26, 2010. Transition Town Commentary on VPR. I've started doing commentaries on Vermont Public Radio. And my first one airs tomorrow at 5:55pm. Seems like an auspicious time, though I'm not exactly sure why. It's on Transition Towns as a positive, proactive model for addressing climate change and peak oil. Hopefully, it'll be the first of many. In case you're a reader, as opposed to a listener, here's the text. Enjoy. I had a heady star-sighting last month. Peak oil – which the US Depa...

Climate Girl: "Hej" from Copenhagen!
http://climategirl.blogspot.com/2009/12/hej-from-copenhagen-after-using-almost.html
Musings and reporting by a climate activist mom. Sunday, December 13, 2009. After using almost every form of transportation known to man- okay I didn't use a hang glider or camel- I am in the fair and bustling city where COP 15, also know as the UN Climate Change Conference 2009, is happening. During my week of as low carbon emitting traveling that I could manage, I have met so many interesting people:. His partner, Sue, who is a leader of Sustainable Wallingford. A group very similar to a Transition Town.
