Fred Eckhardt, R.I.P. - The Brew Site
http://www.thebrewsite.com/fred-eckhardt-rip
Fred Eckhardt, R.I.P. August 10, 2015. Comments Off on Fred Eckhardt, R.I.P. It wasn’t until I got home today that I learned the news of the passing of the Dean of American Beer Writers, Fred Eckhardt, today, and tonight I’m enjoying beer in his honor and toasting his legacy. Fred’s contribution to American beer cannot be overstated and probably will never be matched. He wrote a homebrewing guide,. A Treatise on Lager Beers. The Essentials of Beer Style. The World Guide to Beer. And tagged Fred Eckhardt.

Pound crystal malt, 40L. 1 cup brown sugar (optional).

Bend's growing growler boom - The Brew Site
http://www.thebrewsite.com/bends-growing-growler-boom
Bend’s growing growler boom. January 25, 2013. Added a growler station in Redmond, per Tammy’s comment below. But what you may not know (because it doesn’t seem to have gotten too much coverage beyond the immediate community) is that Bend is ground zero for. Beer trend that is, as far as I know, new and unique to Oregon and possibly the west coast: growler fill stations. That one is called The Growler Guys. Exploded: I can point to. Here’s the list of. Growler fill locations, by my reckoning:. Westside, ...

HEDONIST BEER JIVE: WE HAVE A NEW HOME
http://hedonistbeerjive.blogspot.com/2010/04/we-have-new-home.html
Tuesday, April 27, 2010. WE HAVE A NEW HOME. Hey, I'm writing another beer blog these days called BEER SAMIZDAT. It's better than this one and is read by better-looking people. Come check that out and follow us on Twitter. Click over to the our non-beer blog THE HEDONIST JIVE. As well if you dare, which casts a net beyond craft beer into all sorts of personal obsessions – music, film, politics, baseball, naval-gazing and extreme narcissism. Thursday, April 07, 2005. And the History of Beer Branding in America. Ahem Sorry for the prolonged absence. Don't have time to recap and comment, but a thread. Has gotten into a discussion of how Coors attained its mystique in the eastern U.S. (and elsewhere, I suppose) during the 70's and 80's. Posted by Brian @ 12:38 PM. Weapons of mash destruction. SudsPundit: July 2005
http://sudspundit.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 21, 2005. Ok, so it's not beer. But it's soda, therefore fizzy, therefore sudsy, therefore too ridiculous to not comment on. My first thought goes back to the trippy book Alice in Wonderland. Will I turn gay if I drink it? What's the antidote, a straight cake? If so, should it be substituted for crackers at communion services? Posted by chris @ 3:35 PM. Monday, July 18, 2005. Portland International Beer Festival (part 1/2). As I left to pick up my gift certificate with Jim, we were told th...

Saturday, August 07, 2004. This site is currently under development, and (obviously) not ready for prime time just yet. I mainly wanted to grab what I thought was a pretty clever name as soon as I thought of it. If you're here because you had the same idea, sorry. Maybe you can get Beerblog. To relinquish their name.they haven't posted in over three years. In the meantime you can find my other ongoing projects via my Blogger profile. Posted by Brian @ 8:40 AM. SudsPundit: i have an agent?
http://sudspundit.blogspot.com/2007/10/i-have-agent.html
Tuesday, October 02, 2007. I have an agent? My friend that occasionally brews with me here called me up earlier this evening. He had apparently been talking with the owner of a local establishment about the legal issues of serving free beer. Free as in we give it to him and free as in give it away, not sell it. What is there to tax if no payment is received? I'm a little wary of the seemingly easy "loophole" which is why I'm simply referring to it as "a local establishment.". Posted by chris @ 6:15 PM.

Sunday, May 18, 2008. Also, I frankly have a great deal less spare time on my hands than I did when Chris and I got this started nearly 4 years ago (! I am genuinely humbled by the kind words and insightful comments left over the years, and that we still have the occasional visitor wandering through. I have no plans to take the page down; indeed, one of the beauties of a blog like this is that it is somewhat timeless. But I also don't think I have a great deal more to say. All the best,. I have an agent?
HEDONIST BEER JIVE: I LOST BELGIAN ROULETTE - DES GEANTS "SAISON VOISIN"
http://hedonistbeerjive.blogspot.com/2010/04/i-lost-belgian-roulette-des-geants.html
Wednesday, April 21, 2010. I LOST BELGIAN ROULETTE - DES GEANTS "SAISON VOISIN". One of our favorite games here at the HBJ is "Belgian roulette", a game where you risk $5-$6 of your hard-earned money on a Belgian bottle you've never heard of nor have any idea what to expect. As we say in the trade, "Sometimes you win, sometime you lose". I remember the time I won - BIG - on a bottle of DE DOLLE OERBIER. I bought a bottle of DES GEANTS SAISON VOISIN. Posted by Jay H. SudsPundit: blue in georgia
http://sudspundit.blogspot.com/2007/12/blue-in-georgia.html
Sunday, December 09, 2007. It's been a trying week. Most of the hassle had to do with the fact that the robotics team had a competition at Auburn. This weekend. That even had its own trials and tribulations thanks mostly to a stowaway from another team on our bus. What's the cure for these ailments? Blue laws in Georgia can kiss my grits. And to the politicians that stand by this nonsense, what makes you so sure I didn't take my ass to the early service so I could beat you to the good restaurants? I resp...

Out of a Job Yet? I present to you the worst bumper sticker in the history of bumper stickers. As a Canadian, I see it all the time… on AMERICAN cars. First of all, last time I checked, the United States is still a foreign country. Secondly, do these people not buy clothes, shoes or electronics which are undoubtedly made in Korea, China or Taiwan? Not to mention the stereos and upholstery in their cars, which are also made on the other side of the planet? Even Canada’s next biggest brewer, Sleeman’s, is ...
