The Impatient Home Builder: Before - Inside

http://theimpatienthomebuilder.blogspot.com/p/inside.html

The Impatient Home Builder. My blog about building our home in RI and other musings as they happen. Old House and Plan A. First Floor Bedroom/or Family room. The radiators were in the walls. I can't imagine that worked real well. T-shaped galley kitchen. I think that's what it looked like in the 50's too! The windows were new at least. The only heat was a radiator under the sink. I'm pretty sure that must have been a cold kitchen. Front door off of the living room. Nice leaded glass over the front door.

Rocking it Outdoors | Building 1120

https://building1120.wordpress.com/2013/10/19/rocking-it-outdoors

Top Posts and Pages. We’ve passed some important milestones outdoors on our house. Not only has the lawn been given its final grade, but we now have a driveway and beautiful brick work in place. The concrete sub came by on Wednesday to complete the pour. He was very good at asking questions and figuring out exactly what we were looking for. In the end, we got a driveway that meets city requirements and is exactly what we need. The local development code has three relevant requirements:. The installers to...

Sunday, June 30, 2013. Unique Things and Bathroom Sneak Peak. I'm a sucker for unique one-of-a-kind things. Add hand-carved and with a crown, and it's as good as sold. My first name means "crown" so I've always considered it kind of a personal logo. Doesn't everyone have a personal logo? But what the heck is it? At first I thought it was some kind of a game board. The outer ring. Has the numbers 1 through 31 but once I saw the middle ring with the. January 31, February 28, March 31, April 30, etc. I also...

Top Posts and Pages. Now that the house is nearly complete and it’s about to contain what I value most. We need to think about home security and child safety. I’d been putting this project off for quite some time hoping that a particular next-gen control panel would finally be released. It finally came down to the wire and so I picked a company that would be happy to let me self-manage my system and upgrade to the latest panel when it became available. FrontPoint packages their stuff nicely. Your system ...

The Impatient Gardener

REVELING IN A GARDEN VICTORY. There is something rather momentous going on in my garden right now: Lavender is blooming. Lavender also likes rather poor soil and when I planted 'Phenomenal' last year, I planted it in a mix of bark mulch and gravel. That's it. A new 'Phenomenal' lavender added this spring. This year's plant in the foreground, and a plant from last year blooming in the background. There is a certain satisfaction that comes from finding success with a plant that has previously proven to be ...

Our garden ideas and experiences. A July Visit to Packwood House Garden. July 17, 2013. On a beautiful sunny July summer’s day we decided to visit Packwood House (Lapworth, West Midlands B94 6AT). Lots of nooks to explore and a wonderful relaxing place to spend a couple of hours admiring the flowers. People were picnicking and children were playing cricket – an old world English garden in which to relax. Packwood House – a feast of flowers. Packwood House – One of the borders. A job worth doing…is worth doing fast! What’s Happenin’. Fit for the Future. 5th Annual Disney Extravaganza! April 9, 2013. After seeing tons of families melt down in the heat and crowds (yes, we have all been there! Luckily, none of the three dads in our group tried to make a break for it. We had a great time and saved a ton of cash because we had a kitchen in our hotel suite. After four glorious days at Disney, we hoped in our minivan and drove over to Vero Beach. Oh man, was that resort great!
