The Inspiring Life

Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Socurious minds have been wondering. How in the world does she have time to make her own soy milk each week? Well, I'm here to tell you once again, it's super easy! Here's the process I go through:. Step 1: Get out the raw almonds and dry soybeans (purchased in bulk at Winco). Soaking the beans and nuts. Continue soaking until beans are hydrated. Okay, this is a poor picture but I'm dumping the prepared (and VERY HOT) soymilk into the pitcher through a fine metal mesh strainer.

The Inspiring Life: Eight weeks and counting!

http://www.theinspiringlife.blogspot.com/2012/04/eight-weeks-and-counting.html

Monday, April 2, 2012. Eight weeks and counting! A very important milestone passed this past Friday. Noah is eight weeks old! While it’s hard to believe these past eight weeks have gone by so fast (and he has grown so much! Considering my zombie-like state for much of the first month, the eight week mark was when I had to return to work after having Nathaniel. Not this time baby! I’m so grateful all over again that I’m home with my babies. Right where I belong! Nathaniel holding Noah on Friday.

The Inspiring Life: April 2011

http://www.theinspiringlife.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Okay, so I guess I've been a little granola, or crafty these past two weeks. While I've been waiting on more contract work to be ready I've really enjoyed trying a few new things I thought I'd share. Wool balls inserted into a nylon stocking and ready for the felting process. Completed wool dryer balls! I’m hoping this project is wrapped up within the next few weeks so we’ll be ready to plant once the frost date passes. I’m in the process of digging up the...When I learned ther...

The Inspiring Life: October 2011

http://www.theinspiringlife.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 11, 2011. It’s about due time I update our family blog! I keep reminding myself to do so and am just now, in the fall, finding the time to sit down and document the whirlwind of a spring/summer we had. It’s no surprise we had a wonderful time. When we got back we realized we brought home an extra souvenir. Baby #2 is due to arrive February 1, 2012! Because of being tired and “sick” while pregnant, the garden, once again, suffered this year. Eh….at least there is...And a few hot peppers, ...

The Fur Factor: Napa

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2012/02/napa.html

Monday, February 13, 2012. The weather was great, not quite warm, but sunny and clear. The landscape was beautiful - rolling hills, huge old oak and walnut trees, vineyards as far as the eye can see. Ah.now I am really missing it! But it was a busy Fri night and we didn't have reservations. We did catch a glimpse of Mike Chiarello though. That was as close to a 'celebrity' siting as we got - our friends went last year and saw Robin Williams at this. A quick stop for IN-N-OUT burgers on the way to Napa.

The Fur Factor: December 2011

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 31, 2011. Anyway, I did want to capture some memories of Sam's first Christmas. I can't believe it's already over! This Christmas, for some reason, has been rough for a lot of good friends and acquaintances. Along with that, sharing the experience with Sam made me appreciate it that much more. The best part was just being with family and enjoying our precious time together. Having fun with Dad. Sam with Aunt Kate. With his new teddy bear and giraffe slippers. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Fur Factor: September 2011

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 28, 2011. 6 month stats - he weighs 15 lb, 8 oz and is 27 inches long. Lean and mean! I need to fatten this boy up. It really does bother me that he doesn't weigh more; I wish he was one of those chubby babies. But he is perfectly healthy and the dr. doesn't seem concerned, so I guess I should get over it. Here he is on the swing at a new playground by our house. He didn't even fill up half the seat! Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Just doing some window shopping. At my house, when my t...

The Fur Factor: Change is in the air

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2012/02/change-is-in-air.html

Saturday, February 25, 2012. Change is in the air. So the reference to having a tight budget in my last post is related to some big changes! With the low prices and really low interest rates, it makes more sense to pay a new mortgage then to pay someone else rent when we do move. That's the long and short of it. So we are now officially house hunting! February 25, 2012 at 3:59 PM. February 28, 2012 at 7:22 AM. Oh friend, that is a lot going on! Will definitely be praying. xoxo. A lot of change, indeed!

The Fur Factor: March 2012

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 26, 2012. Birthday update and other thoughts. Can't believe my little man, my baby, is one! One and some change as of today. We are having a belated birthday party for him next weekend since Bill had to work on his actual birthday. I will definitely take the time to write some reflections on Sam and this past year too, just not sure when! All our free time this week will be filled with remodel planning and birthday party prep. Oh, and a haircut for Sam! Tuesday, March 20, 2012. It was on th...

The Fur Factor: June 2011

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 2, 2011. I am loving this book! I've been spending some quality time with my Kindle this week, reading "How to Have Your Second Child First." It's been somewhat of a trying week and I feel like this book has validated everything I'm experiencing and feeling lately but might not necessarily say out loud; it's encouraging. This is probably just in my head, but I get the feeling sometimes that after the first few months (dare I say weeks? 61 - "It's ok for you and baby to "do nothing" all day...

Thursday, April 12, 2012. What's going on today and other news. It's another sunny day in WA today (even though cold). That's the 4th beautiful day this week - a record! And w e are signing our loan docs today. Hooray! We are going to pick tile and fixtures for the bathrooms this weekend. It's overwhelming with so many choices and decisions to make, but in the best way. Finally, Sam has figured out how to climb up the stairs! He's pretty proud of himself. Tuesday, April 3, 2012. The Fur Factor: Our new house in the woods

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2012/03/our-new-house-in-woods.html

Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Our new house in the woods. We found our house! It was on the market for a year and they had already lowered the price by $100,000. I don't think there had been any other offers. We offered $25,000 below that and they still accepted! If there were ever a time to buy a house. I know a lot of friends and family were praying for us to find the right place, so thank you! March 20, 2012 at 7:35 PM. And what a great house! March 21, 2012 at 2:12 PM. What a great place! The Fur Factor: August 2011

http://thefurfactor.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 29, 2011. Sam @ 5 months. My boy is no longer an infant! I feel like I can already see glimpses of the little boy he will become. This month more than ever he seems to be learning/growing so quickly (I'm sure I'll say that every month). He is so curious about the world and very aware of his surroundings, dare I say too aware? Even though they're not strangers! Just like most other 5 month olds, he wants to put everything in his mouth, including my face. He also seems to be very interes...
