A routine health and safety inspection of the structures within the park identified movement in the wooden columns supporting the roof of the upper pagoda. Following an assessment it was decided that the only viable and safe option was to dismantle it. It was taken down in October 2015 and as much as possible was salvaged and stored.

How to Find Us. Map of the Gardens. How to Find Us. There are three entrances to the Festival Gardens: the main pedestrian entrance on Riverside Drive, via the car park or from the promenade. By bus: 82A from Liverpool One bus station. By train: St.Michaels station is a 5 minute walk. By car: Use post code L17 5BU for satnav. The car park can be accessed from the roundabout on Riverside Drive, opposite Bempton Road. Car parking is free but we ask that all visitors consider making a donation by text.

Green Angels draws to a close at Liverpool Festival Gardens. After two great years at Liverpool Festival Gardens the BIG Lottery funded Green Angels project finishes at the end of October 2015, and no further environmental training courses are now on offer. We would like to thank all those involved in helping us to deliver such a successful and worthwhile initiative which has made a difference to many people’s lives.
